I took a chance and planted my vegetables in March during that early heat wave, and it definitely paid off! I planted six varieties of tomatoes—Roma, Early Girl, Cherokee Purple, Black Prince, Red Beefsteak, and Big Boy—and they are all loaded with fruit. Along with the tomatoes, I’m growing zucchini, bell and hot peppers, cucumbers, beans, and eggplant. The first to ripen are the Romas, which I roasted and turned into a delicious homemade sauce. There’s nothing quite like enjoying the rewards of a successful garden season!

Today was our Garden Club’s last meeting of the season, and what a beautiful way to celebrate! Members of the Diablo Women’s Garden Club brought flowers from their own gardens to decorate the tables, creating stunning displays of color, texture, and creativity.

Each arrangement was unique and reflected the love and care that goes into our gardens. It was a wonderful reminder of the beauty we can grow and share with one another.

Everywhere I look, I see Mom.
A couple years ago, she painted this beautiful face for me, and now it holds new life with fresh succulents. A sweet reminder that love, memories, and beauty continue to grow. Missing her always.

It is with a heavy heart that I share that our dear mother, my beloved “Swilly,” has been called home to eternity with Jesus. I am so grateful that she is now with Him — reunited with the love of her life, Papa, her son, and other cherished family members. While my heart gives thanks for her eternal peace, the sadness lingers for those of us who will miss her deeply here on earth.
Until we meet again, Swilly, you will be loved, cherished, and missed always.
