JFC remodeled this customer’s kitchen right before starting chemo treatments for Stage IV b prostate cancer that had metastasized to my neck and spine. After chemo treatments were over in May, JFC resumed fulfilling the contract to remodel her master bathroom. Thank-you for your patience and for being such a great customer Lori! Thank-you all for your thoughts and prayers during my cancer journey! Most importantly; thank-you Lord Jesus Christ for allowing me to persevere!

Got a nice little text out of the blue tonight from this JFC Home Improvement customer six years after I did their deck. Gets me excited to jump back in to the fray again... "We are still talking about the amazing job you did! Thanks John!"

JFC Home Improvement gave this 110 year old house a 21st century pre-finished flooring update. We also fit in a powder room with pocket door in the last photo. Here all this time JFC assumed that putting in floors, shingling roofs, et al. was the cause for all the back pain. JFC will be on extended hiatus for the foreseeable future. Thank-you all for the comments and video views over the years.

There was a lot of water damage to folk’s basements this year. This was the third basement repair this year made by JFC Home Improvement after recent flooding required this homeowner’s insurance contractor to remove the bottom forty inches of their basement walls. After re-framing and insulating; JFC Home Improvement cut to fit the wainscot, chair rail and baseboard. The basement will be good as new after the homeowner applies a couple coats of polyurethane to the bare wood. Thanks for watching.

“What is the hardest part about doing this?” asked this JFC Home Improvement customer as I was getting set up to cut and fit this 11 piece wainscot in their living room. “The layout and making it all look right I guess is the hardest part” I told him. “Is it more science or art?” he asked. “Well if you get the science right, it almost starts to look like art” I replied. After the painter finished up last week, the living room is now all put back together and another satisfied JFC Home Improvement customer texted me the last photo today and said that they love it.

This combination of four short videos shows the progression plan this JFC Home Improvement customer wanted to follow in the remodeling of their home. The video starts with the three week remodel of the second floor hall bath in September 2017. The next videos show two separate views of the five week master bath renovation in mid-February 2018. That first video is the expansion of the master shower including adding a new window in the shower for natural light. The second master bath view shows the reversal of the hall closet access to the bath. The new bathroom entry door access also utilizes a pocket door. The final video shows the two week, mid-April opening up of the stairwell at the front entry providing access to the adjacent family room. I always advise folks to think outside the box when they renovate and this JFC customer certainly followed that advice. Thanks for watching.

This longtime JFC Home Improvement customer wanted their master bathroom updated. So the first order of business was relocating the new shower location to the huge 4’ x7’ space that was previously occupied by the whirlpool bath tub. All the tile and grout for the bathroom; including the 10”x20” wall tiles, the Bone Corian sills, the Brushed Nickel Pencil accent and the glass Chevron Mosaic were supplied by Ceramic Tile Sales located in Bethel Park. We installed a 10-in Square Rainfall CASAINC Shower Head with the added handheld shower attachment. A 14”x36” matching Bone Corian bench was also installed at the opposite end of the shower with a 4”x 24” Thunderbird Linear Drain located under the bench. Another added feature we installed was an Elite Steam 7.5 kilowatt Luxury Home Steam Shower System capable of steaming the shower compartment to a tropical 110 degrees. Rex Glass of Peters Township custom fabricated the glass enclosure adding hinges to the panel above the 4 foot wide shower door allowing it to be a workable vent to cool down the shower. New quartz vanity tops were supplied and installed by Kitchenrama who is located in the Strip District. A soaking tub was located in the space where the original shower stall was in order to complete the full bath. The stained glass arched window was designed by both the homeowner and Williams Stained Glass Studio of Castle Shannon. This beautiful work of art automatically became the centerpiece of the bathroom while adding privacy and a beautiful light to the bathroom.

JFC Home Improvement constructed these two custom corner units for these long time customers about twenty years ago. Rex Glass in McMurray glazed the doors and sides with 1/4" beveled glass. Rex also custom fit the 3/8" glass shelves in the cabinets. Back then the homeowners kinda wanted a “simplistic elegance” in the design of their built in corner armoires with no visible door handles…hey, it was still the nineties and life was just a little more simplistically elegant back then.

These long time customers had JFC Home Improvement update their first floor carpet and tile with hand-scraped hardwood flooring in 2015. JFC updated their kitchen in 2016 and installed additional hardwood flooring on the second floor in 2017. This year’s project was to replace their deck and add a roof to keep everyone cool and protected from the elements. They chose Azek concealed fastener decking and Cable Rail by Feeney for the railing system. Five-inch beaded board with a white wash finish was used for the ceiling. Energy efficient LED ceiling lights light up the deck at night. Enjoy your new deck my friends.
