Each client and every project receives individual attention. Client participation, ideas, and input are encouraged at all design stages. Mavrovic AIA founded the firm Mavrovic Architects PC in 1993. With his strong motivation, a young support staff, and limitless opportunities in the foreseeable future, he launched a design studio in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. During his professiona
l career, after graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1983, Max served as vice-president at two of the largest architectural firms in Pittsburgh where he was responsible for client relations, staff supervision, project design, and construction budgets. Over his career, Max’s projects have been published in professional journals, illustrated in coffee table books, and have won local and regional awards. And exercising his commitment to academics, Max has also accepted invitations to be a guest lecturer at the college level and has coauthored a textbook used by interior design programs at universities around the world. The small boutique-size office ensures personal service for you and project continuity from start to finish. A prerequisite for employment is first-hand experience with new construction and renovation projects. The needs of each client and every project are responded to personally by professional staff members through in-depth investigation and careful research. Design solutions are developed that exceed client objectives, meet completion schedules, fall within construction budgets, and satisfy the aesthetic goals of staff creatives. Client participation, input, and ideas are encouraged and considered throughout all steps of the design process. For each project, interviews are conducted with stakeholders to establish design criteria and project objectives. For new buildings, a site analysis is conducted considering ecological impacts on the building design and impact of the building on the nearby environment. For building renovations and additions, existing conditions are carefully documented and building systems are analyzed for suitability with the future plan. Current safety, building, energy, and accessibility codes and zoning regulations are researched for all projects. After the foundation investigations are made and documented, then a concise program document is developed as the roadmap that will define the desired project goals and outcomes. A project budget is established based on the approved program, and is rigorously followed for the duration of the project. A project schedule timeline is developed with input from the client and construction professionals. Our decades of project experience has shown that this process virtually eliminates unanticipated results and provides the necessary resources to complete projects on time and on budget. Project experience covers a wide range of building types including corporate, retail, food service, hospitality, convention, healthcare, luxury residential, public education, higher education, public housing, entertainment, transportation distribution centers, parking, and industrial energy sites. Building projects are primarily located in the Southwestern Pennsylvania region, however clients have asked us to extend our services to seven additional states (New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, Florida, and Texas) and to four international locations (Germany, Australia, Nigeria, and the Philippines). This broad experience illustrates our flexibility and has provided us the opportunity to work with a diverse group of clients on a broad spectrum of project types. In addition to building design, consulting services are regularly delivered to other industry professionals (architects, engineers, developers, and contractors), public agencies (at local, state, and federal levels), and private clients (international corporations, law firms, accounting consultancies, insurance carriers, and medical service providers). These services include zoning and code studies, value engineering analyses, developmental feasibility, master planning, graphics and wayfinding, accessibility surveys, historic preservation assessments, LEED/sustainability design, site landscaping, and expert witness reporting and testimony. If you have a need for services related to building or construction, we probably have the experience from which we will draw to ensure your project will go smoothly.
