Components for the base of a cherry dining table. The base will take an ebony stain while the top and skirt will maintain a more natural cherry hue.
The first photo highlights just how much goes into a piece like this. 9 carefully milled pieces along with 30 wedges and pins. People are often surprised and the cost of a piece like this. I hope that sharing these sort of photos provides some level of explanation.
The second photo shows the nested mortise and tenon, which is a particularly strong joint and really good for preventing any sort of wracking.
