A new bigger tv prompted me to make some changes in my own house. True to form, I searched for something I could refinish. But after living with the fourth photo for a while I started thinking, what if I cut the top of those shelves off?

Cutting the shelves off was easy, but it wasn’t perfectly even. With some bondo, lots of sanding, and unexpected high temps in the Chicago land area, I was able to finish this in a couple of weeks.

Paint is so easy, it makes a huge difference, and you can always paint it again!

I adore the beautiful dark blue and love the way the color drench changed this entire room. 💙
