Today we honor Juneteenth by celebrating freedom, growth, resilience, and the roots that continue to nourish our communities. 🌿❤️🖤💚

This year, we wanted to highlight Dr. Marie Clark Taylor, a pioneering African American botanist and educator whose work helped shine light on the beauty and science of plant life. She studied how light affects plant growth and dedicated much of her career to making science more hands-on, accessible, and inspiring for students and teachers.

We chose to honor her today because her legacy reflects so much of what we believe in at The Li’l Plant Shop: growth, education, community, and the power of nurturing life from the roots up.

May this Juneteenth be a reminder that freedom grows where knowledge, care, and community are planted. 🌱

Today marks six years since the passing of our founder, Carli "Foxy" Eleveld.

Carli was the heart of The Li'l Plant Shop, a passionate plant lover, creative spirit, storyteller, and friend who made everyone feel welcome. Her laughter, knowledge, and love for plants helped create the community we know today.

While we miss her deeply, her legacy continues to grow through the people she inspired, the shop she helped build, and the Carli "Foxy" Scholarship Fund created in her memory.

When you purchase one of our ceramic foxes, proceeds are donated directly to the scholarship fund, helping carry her spirit of creativity, growth, and community into the future. 🦊💚

As we prepare to open a new chapter in a larger space, we're reminded that every new leaf, every connection, and every dream started with a seed Carli planted.
