Despite living in the USA, I have always wanted my family to maintain a strong connection to their roots and what better way, then having them enjoy delicious handmade rotis and parathas, like I did growing up. I like to spend hours in the kitchen experimenting with different recipes, perfecting my technique, and sharing my creations with family and friends. I was told by many people that my rotis
and parathas were so tasty and flavorful and everyone who tried them would ask for more. One day, I realized that I could turn my passion for roti-making into a business. Many people told me that there was a demand for freshly made, authentic rotis in the community, but no one was really offering them. Like myself, many South Asians want to provide their families with homemade delicacies, but not many are able to. So, I decided to take the leap and start my own roti business from home. Initially, I started small, making a few dozen rotis every day and selling them to my neighbors and friends. Word quickly spread and the demand increased, so I decided to grow the business. As a mom I due have challenges to face, such as managing time, juggling orders, and balancing my work with family responsibilities. However, I decided I wanted to persevere and set an example for my children and found creative ways to overcome these obstacles. Now, I have started a social media page to promote the business and provide a valuable service to the community, while also achieving financial independence and fulfillment in my work. I hope one day my story will become an example to the power of following your dreams, taking calculated risks, and turning your passions into a successful business. Please come and support a local mom and bring a little bit of your South Asian culture to your home as well.
