The world lost a little bit of its sparkle today.

Dolly Parton was so much more than a country music legend. She was a songwriter, actress, businesswoman, philanthropist, and a woman whose kindness and humor touched generations.

From Jolene and 9 to 5 to I Will Always Love You, her voice became part of the soundtrack of our lives. But perhaps her greatest legacy was the way she gave back—especially her incredible commitment to children and literacy through the Imagination Library.

Today, we say goodbye to an icon who proved you could be glamorous, funny, strong, successful, and genuinely kind all at the same time.

Rest in peace, Dolly. 🦋💔

What do networking, artwork, and pest control have in common?

That’s exactly what Denise Holguin of Home Run Pest & Termite Control will be exploring during her 5-Minute Spotlight at the Friday Morning at the Plano Chamber meeting on July 24th.

Denise will share the story of how she found her role at Home Run Pest & Termite Control, why creativity plays such an important part in her work, and why there always seem to be props involved.

She’ll also share why so many of her lifelong interests unexpectedly connect to the work she does today. 😂

Looking back, there were probably clues. For example, she’s apparently been collecting fake bugs for most of her life in preparation for this moment. 🐜🪳🕷️

When Crystal Dobrenic with A-1 Affordable Garage Door Services couldn't make her Plano Chamber elevator pitch, we decided to improvise.

Scott Vowinkle of Community Impact became our narrator.

Cherie Privett of City Missions drove "home."

Denise Holguin played Susie Spring... an overworked garage door spring who had officially had enough.

Somehow, it all worked.

Huge thanks to Crystal, Scott, Cherie, and everyone at the Plano Chamber for being such good sports and reminding us that networking doesn't always have to be serious to be memorable—and that the best business stories are written together.

This one just happened to start with a little creativity... and a Slinky. 😊

Moments like these are just one of the many reasons Home Run Pest & Termite Control and Abracadabra Lawn Pest & W**d Control love being part of the Plano Chamber community.
