NightCrawler Gardens LLC

NightCrawler Gardens LLC We strive to be the best place for you to get plants and gardening advice. Each year we strive to offer more new plants that we think you’ll enjoy.

Thanks to our wonderful customers NightCrawler Gardens has been going strong since we opened in 2004. You can find flowering annuals; a huge selection of vegetables including over 90 varieties of tomatoes and 40 varieties of peppers; AND starting in 2014 we began growing over 250 varieties of herbs. If you are looking for something unique or are in search of really great, healthy plants we are yo

ur destination. We grow what we sell, unlike many garden centers. Our greenhouses are hard to see from the retail side, so be sure to take a look at our new aerial photo when you visit us. We host many groups and offer tours of greenhouses during off season hours. We are a family owned and operated business and truly appreciate your support.

Help Wanted Greenhouse Production Team!
Is a part- or full-time seasonal job something you would be interested in? NightCrawler Gardens is a great place to work, learn about plants and enjoy the company of a great crew. We grow a tremendous diversity of organic and conventional herbs, vegetables, and native plants for sale throughout central Ohio. We are ramping up production for the Spring season and need general labor.

Because this is a seasonal job it is a great opportunity for retirees, college students, and parents that want work while their children are at school. We are somewhat flexible but prefer folks to work at least 18 hours a week, occasionally weekends.

Responsibilities may include:

Transplanting seedlings to their flats or baskets
Moving plants as needed for consolidation, loading racks or the truck
Watering
Building flats, Mixing soil, filling flats
Sowing seeds
Cleaning up
Things that come up in the day-to-day operations of a small business
Requirements:

We need folks who are honest, hardworking, punctual, and friendly.
Willingness to learn our methods and protocols.
Most work is with others, but some solo work will require self-motivation.
Attention to detail is important, nobody wants to buy a cherry tomato plant that ends up being a beefsteak because it was mislabeled.
This is a physical job and requires a lot of bending to pick up and set down product on the floor.
We try to avoid it but there are times in the spring when it rains in Ohio. We work through the rain, sun, wind, and snow. Most work is inside greenhouses, but things need to be moved from one place to another and be loaded to ship. Many days are a delight to work through.
There will be dirt. It will get on you.
Please message us here to schedule an interview. We can email the application materials prior to meeting.

The only super duper hot peppers we have left ore Death Spiral and 7-pot Barracapore. They’re on the strawberry table in quart pots $10 each.

Good morning!!!! We have set out a large assortment of peppers and tomatoes. Also have an assortment of herbs out and a few other vegetables. We I’ll be bringing up our native plants soon (not today).

We have no staff available, please don’t knock on Dad’s door, he helps plant and sow seeds, but is not involved in the retail. If it is not up front, we may have it, but we do not have the labor to assist you. I am truly sorry about this.

There is an honor box for cash and checks next to the barn door, see the picture. It is emptied every evening. There are also QR codes for credit card payments in the same location. Please pay by check or cash if you can. I don’t like sharing with the credit card companies, but understand that cards are what folks carry now days.

Prices are the same as last year!

Most of the vegetables are in blue pots and are certified organic. The natives are in green pots. Blue and green pots are $6 each, tax included.

Most herbs are in purple pots. Purple pots are $5 each, tax included.

Sorry for the late set up, we’ve been busy shipping lots of plants out, it has been a decent season so far. Will try to do better retail next season.

No annual flowers or baskets this season, but my daughter is trying to convince me to bring them back in the future, we will see.

We grow everything we sell. We grow it right here in Fairfield County Ohio!

Thank you all!
Jason

Hi all, unfortunately we are struggling to keep up with transplanting and shipping plants to other local garden centers. We are not open yet and it doesn’t look like we will be this week.

I will post when we do open.

Also, we have very few annuals this season. We grew a plethora of vegetable, herb, and native species/cultivars.

If you need a job for the next 4 weeks or so, send an email to [email protected]
It involves lots of picking trays of plants off of the ground and loading them on shipping carts. Also will be doing a lot of transplanting. Good after school job for 16+ year olds.

We still have some great plants available. Of course they would look better in your garden than in our greenhouses :)

When it comes to natives Showy Beardtongue is a real winner. This is blooming in the greenhouse but they are blooming in the garden right now as well.
