This is a post I’ve been equally excited and equally sad to make. As the saying goes, one door closes and another door opens. I’ve found in life when this happens it can be a time of incredible excitement, but it can have a bittersweet aspect to it as well.
We are so excited to announce to you that we are the new owners at Schrock’s Country Kitchens and Furniture. This has been a long process with a lot of learning and growing in both our abilities and our humility. Any of you that know me as a woodworker, know how much of a dream come true this truly is.
As I said though a door had to close before this door could open. Gideon, MaryAnn and Marcus will be moving to Michigan in May. Gideon Schrock is my best friend. That’s crazy to say from an “English” about someone who’s Amish. Gideon taught me so much over the 3 and a half years I had to study and learn from him. He taught me not just about being a great woodworker/cabinet maker but he also taught me about persistence and seeing things all the way through even if you don’t want to. He taught me to be humble and to work harder than everyone else and that making a customer have satisfaction is the number one priority. His tenor around the shop will be missed but he will still always have my back and will maintain a role in the business for a few years until he’s ready to really hang it up.
We are beyond ecstatic to begin this new chapter in our story. We look forward to making lasting connections with new customers and continuing to share the bonds we’ve developed with our former customers.
