CANTILEVER | PART 3 — THE FINAL REVEAL

Two posts at the back. Zero posts out front. A completely open poolside.

This is what the project was all about.

Supported by two posts set into engineered footings at the back, along with a ledger at the wall, this cantilever projects out over the patio with nothing underneath the front edge — keeping the poolside open, the walking path clear, and the view unobstructed.

We finished it off with one ceiling fan and LED lighting around all four sides, creating a clean, comfortable outdoor space during the day and a completely different atmosphere at night.

And there’s one final piece still to come — the outdoor bar is getting ready to go in and complete this backyard space.

No front posts. No interrupted sightlines. Just open covered outdoor living.

CANTILEVER | PART 2

Now you can see how this cantilever design comes together.

The two support posts are set into their footings at the back, the ledger provides additional support along the wall, and now we’re working our way across the roof of this Cantilever patio cover.

The result? The structure projects out over the patio while the entire front stays completely open.

No posts along the pool.

No obstacles in the walking path.

Just a clean, wide-open outdoor space with solid coverage overhead.

The roof is going on now, but the best part is still to come.

Next up: the finished reveal.

16’ × 16’ CANTILEVER | PART 1

Hard to believe these two footings will soon help support an entire 16’ × 16’ patio cover.

This project starts with two engineered footings positioned at the back of the patio. Combined with a ledger attached along the wall, this is what allows us to create the cantilever design — with absolutely no posts out front.

Once complete, the cover will project out over the patio while keeping the entire poolside open — no front posts blocking the walking path, interrupting the view, or taking away from the space.

Right now, it’s two footings and a plan.

🔥 PART 4 — THE FINISHED REVEAL

900 SQ. FT. COMMERCIAL PROJECT | SLOCUM HOUSE

And here it is — the patio cover is complete.

From the first footing to the final lattice tube, this 900 sq. ft. freestanding lattice patio cover has completely transformed the outdoor space at Slocum House.

A massive new shaded area with clean lines and an open-air feel that fits this beautiful property perfectly.

With the patio cover complete, the surrounding concrete, center water feature, and final touches are still to come. We can’t wait to see the entire space come together.

With the structural framework in place, we’re ready for the final stage that will completely transform the look of this project.

🏗️ PART 1 — IT ALL STARTS HERE

880 SQ. FT. COMMERCIAL PROJECT | SLOCUM HOUSE

You won’t see them when we’re finished, but they’re one of the most important parts of the entire build.

We’re kicking off this 900 sq. ft. freestanding lattice patio cover at Slocum House by laying out and digging the engineered footings.

This commercial structure is being built to engineered specifications for the required 20 lb. live load.

On a project this size, doing it right starts from the ground up.

Next up → 10” x 10’ square columns and beams.
