The tallest tree in Wales had been damaged by a storm and was supposed to be cut down ... but chainsaw artist Simon O'Rourke found a better solution to symbolise the tree's last attempt to reach the sky.

Out plowing today and this happened right next to the driveway that I plow up top of Plymouth mountain. Can’t get through. The road is closed and the tree took out all the wires. A good foot of snow up there hanging heavy in the trees.

Today is day six working this property. It’s an annual federal government contract that we acquired in the late nineties. The trunks of these trees when we started in the nineties were the size of a soda can. Cosmetic trimming at its finest. Our quality of work is SECOND TO NONE. We have another week to ten days here and then we’ll get back to our residential work. If I haven’t answered your calls I apologize but this is the reason why. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
