Good morning, friends. It will soon be time for the annual Baltimore Oriole Migration (see attached from E Bird) to North American and I will again be producing oriole feeders to sell locally and ship where needed. Cost is $35 (includes tax) and if shipping is needed usually adds $13-$17 per feeder. Last year's response was great and looking forward to this season.

A number of you have mentioned you have had challenges with squirrels getting into your feeders. I have tried a ton of different ways to eradicate this and the best I have found has been buying a 4" round by 5' length galvanized pipe that snaps together on the side to wrap around our shepherds' poles. Please see attached pictures and this solution with a 4" ceiling collar costs about $15 at Home depot.

Hello Friends,

I have heard from many of you on this page and also the Handy Andy Birdfeeders page that some of you have had challenges with squirrels. This is very common, especially in our area of MN. Also, if you have not had an oriole yet, please be patient. Orioles search for new food supplies often, and the season (at least in MN, lasts until later in the summer (August/September).

A couple of ways to reduce the likelihood of squirrels eating the jelly/oranges.

-Buy a squirrel baffle ($19 Amazon) if you are using a shepherd's hook ($38 for 2 on Amazon)
-If you use a shepherd's hook, place it away from trees where squirrels can jump on your feeder.
-It helps to have oriole feeders generally higher in the air. My shepherd's hooks are 108". If hanging from a tree, the higher and further away from the base the better

I've mentioned before, but Merlin is a fantastic app and is very accurate (90%) and easy to use. Also, E bird is a great website and you can filter to see exact reports and locations of orioles in your location.

As we are in-season, the price for our feeders is dropping today to $35 per feeder.
