Well, owl be; Kitschy 70s Embossed Owl Print Mirrors in Thin Gold Metal Frames:

The pictures I took of these absolutely suck and do not showcase the absolute kitschy perfection that these mirrors possess. I mean, seriously? Embossed owl mirrors? They are literally a hoot.

They were made by the Brytone Mechanical Mirror Works Company of New York, New York. They have a built in hanger built right into the backing.

The frames are that thin brass colored metal stuff that was big during that ten year period. There are minor blemishes but nothing horrible.

If kitsch is your thing, these 9” x 12” gems are beyond fabulous and at $35 for the pair you are definitely not going to screech.

Waiting for the sun; Vintage 70s Sunshiny Suns Bookends:

These happy sunshine bookends were put out in the 70s - because of course, they were -a time that even when things got a little rough, there was always a smiley face wishing for you to have a nice day. We need those kind of reminders again. That’s why these bookends are so cool. Just looking at them puts me in a better place/a better space emotionally.

Each one of these radiant reminders is 6.25” H on a 3.5” x 3.5” Base. One has very faint scratches but nothing that marks the overall look.

Couldn’t find these anywhere which doesn’t really mean anything but the closest thing to these sold for $50 for the pair. I’m asking $29. You could probably even screw them to the wall and use them as sconces.

This vintage snail has gone through shell; Vintage Rusty Garden Snail Watering Can:

I do have a penchant for the rusty, the beat, and the time worn. Anyone can find beauty in the shiny and the pretty; but it takes a unique kind of soul to remember that even in the seemingly imperfect is the perfect.

This metal snail watering can is from the 80s. Though I can’t prove it, it does seem to perk up to Duran Duran. Measures 10” H and about 9.5” W. The thing about rusty and peely items is that they immediately make any space they’re placed in appear more cultivated.

Asking $22. Again, if you want shiny and pretty go to Aisle 10 of that chain store that has all the personality of an undigested radish.

Go Big; Big Antique 1920s Architectural Salvaged Hanging Shelf:

Not to sound callous but I don’t really care how far away I live from you. It very well take you an hour or more to get to me but how is that my problem? Besides, you don’t know how far I had to drive to get the item in the first place. The point is; I didn’t ask the seller for a discount because that’s not their concern just like it’s really not my concern how far you may need to go to get this; a beautiful antique 1920s hanging wood shelf that extraordinarily big.

When I say big, I mean big. 28” Across with a shelf that sticks out 11” at the widest point and 11” L. Made of solid wood, it is really a uniquely wonderful piece. It’s primitive, rustic, and absolutely fantastic.

Asking an unapologetic $129. You mean I might have to keep it if I don’t sell it? Oh, boo hoo. I have a one of a kind shelf taken from a 1920s Temple City home.

Plain Crazy; Two Vintage 1930s Pressed Steel Planes in Well Used Condition:

These two pressed steel planes from the 1930s are in pretty rough condition - as you can “planely” see. The sea plane was made by the Wyandotte Toy Company who specialized in pressed steel toys and the P35 (?) was more than likely a Marx creation. Though rough, they exude a kind of childlike charm because these toys were played with and used, abused, and left out in the elements.

The Wyandotte alone can fetch up to $250 in great shape. I am asking $70 for the pair. Great for unexpected decor. I’ve seen cheapreproduction metal with “manufactured “ patina in those chain stores go for more for one than I’m asking for the two..

Paradise Found; One Only Vintage Metal Paradise Chevrolet of Ventura License Plate Holder:

What a throwback to the past this is. Vintage 1960s all metal license plate frame from Paradise Chevrolet of Ventura, California. I only have the one and I am not in possession of any of the hardware to attach it to your car. It’s in great shape for being some 60 odd years old.

Asking $60 firm. These license plate frames are definitely collectible not to mention cool. I know you probably want it for less…well, so did I…looks to be about 13” x 7.”

You are always surrounded by Light; Vtg. 90s Metal Sunburst Mirror:

First of all, I’d like to express my appreciation to all those who follow me and to all those who frequently shop with me. One of my “frequent buyers” was having a bad day yesterday and we texted back and forth a little bit and by the end of our conversation, he felt a little better about things.

Having been a counselor for many years, it was my job to “see” the Light that was always around my client no matter what it was that they may have been going through. That not only was this Light around them but they were immersed in that Light; that they were extensions of the this Light regardless of the appearances.

This mirror is a symbol of the philosophy I try to live out. It’s not a “isn’t everything great?” philosophy as much as it is learning to recognize that even in the darkest of times, Light is present. As I was taking photos for this ad, there was one of me surrounded by those bronzy-golden rays and I saw my friend in my imagination surrounded by these same rays. You see, the rays of the sun extend outward because of their Source and they can never leave that Source regardless of temporary clouds that do their best to obscure the perpetual Light.

This mirror extends outward to 21.5” in Diameter with the inner mirror being about 5.5” in Diameter. Put it in a place that reminds you of the radiance that you did not create but is definitely yours to extend.

Not one but two; Two Near Antique Printers Trays:

These have become the rather hot decorating piece over the last year and I recently had the good fortune of stumbling across two of these in a barn. I believe they are both Hamilton made trays but only one of the two has the original drawer pull. Someone (probably some well intentioned “creative type”) painted these black because God forbid, the real wood look too antique.

Some of the drawer dividers broke but study the pictures and realize that most are completely intact. They measure 32” x 16”. I am selling the pair for $150. The sane people around us tend to ask about $115 per item but here you are getting two for $150. Now I may have gone to public school but even I know that that’s $75 a piece. That’s still very fair. Make me break up the set and take the one with the pull, and it will be a little more.

Serious Inquiries Only; Vintage Midcentury Maddux of California Pink Flamingo w/Tropical Pond Set:

For some, this might be the Holy Grail. This beautiful three piece Maddux of California from Los Angeles Pink Flamingo set is in absolutely stunning shape. I don’t take this lightly. Usually with the vintage items I sell, I mark the condition that the item is in as “good.” But these are like they just came out of the factory. These are in impeccable condition and most of the time when these are sold, they are not the complete set. Usually one of the flamingos is missing and the “tropical pond” is almost always gone. But here they are, all three pieces, together like they would’ve been from the start.

Online, people are asking $200+ for just the flamingos. You’re right. You can ask whatever you want for an item that you are selling and it doesn’t mean you’re going to get it but these are very, very hard to come by and coming by a complete set in perfect shape is unheard of especially when I am asking only $195 for all three pieces. If you don’t want to pay that, that’s fine and they’ll just stay with me until you realize I’m being more than fair.

The flamingos are 10” and 7” High. The pond is 13” x 6” x 2.”

If you’re a Midcentury nut and you don’t have these, your collection is incomplete…sorry to break it to you, but it is.
