About the Diva

I have been an artist for as long as I can remember and I have always liked to be challenged to invent and build things. I am especially intrigued by architecture and home design. I have spent countless hours over the years flipping through digests, perusing home designs, remodeling photos, and watching a lot of videos all over the internet learning and expanding my knowledge. My first hands on renovating experience began while I was in college and my parents decision to remodel a small bathroom. I accepted the challenge to get it done and I realized when it was finally finished that I wanted to do more! After getting married, my husband and I purchased our first home and we did most of the updating together. Shortly after moving to our second home in 1993 with our two young daughters in tow, I decided it was necessary to remodel ASAP. I designed, drew up all the plans and applied for all the necessary permits. I hired contractors for major the aspects like framing, siding and roofing but was always watching and learning. I tackled most of the interior work myself. I had some excellent on-the-job training with some great people during these projects and gained a lot of experience in all these fields. Over the last 33 years, I have used my skills lending a helping hand to close friends and family for various endeavors, both small and large. From honey-do lists to fully redesigning spaces, framing, flooring, sheetrock repairs, built-in cabinetry, tile work, bathrooms, kitchens, bead boarded ceilings, granite counters with custom back splashes, lighting, electrical, plumbing, major and minor repairs, interior and exterior doors, crown moulding and trim work, hardscaping and paver work, I just love to get my hands on the right tools and do it all! I especially have fond memories of volunteering with some awesome, humble people through the Morris chapter of Habitat for Humanity to renovate a house in my town for a very deserving family. My closest childhood friend of 45 years had asked me help her find a lake home in NJ to get out of the city on the weekends to be nearer to her parents. We found a property that would eventually meet her needs and I helped her successfully manage that project which was to totally demolish the house she just purchased and rebuild from the ground up. Together, with only a few minor hiccups, we gained quite a bit from that experience. She now lives full time in her beautiful, custom, three-story, two car garage house. My closest friend had deemed me the “Tool Belt Diva” and she designed the whimsical logo above for me. I am not, by any means, a diva - but it stuck. So after much contemplating and a fulfilling 27-year career as a Licensed Dental Hygienist, I decided that 2017 would be the year I’d start my own remodeling business. The combination of solving problems and helping people is something I just love to do. I am proud to say that so far, the “Tool Belt Diva” has been very successful in “Getting things done!” for friends all over NJ!
