I just realized I forgot to post about my bees!
In May I created a swarm trap out of a 5 gallon bucket. At first I placed it near my Russian Sage, but then I decided to hang it in our pear tree.
Well, that worked, along with adding some lemongrass oil. I caught my first swarm!
It has been a little over a month now since I moved them into their hive and they have been doing great. Lots of honey, pollen and capped brood on the frames.
I need to move the hive to it's permanent spot more in the sun to help with mites. We probably won't try to extract honey until next year, to give the Bees a chance to grow and get stronger.

It is great to have friends who have chickens. 9 bags of chicken coop manuer for the compost pile.
