This scripture popped up after here in the Philippines we experienced many earthquakes and then a typhoon.

2 Nephi 27- And when that day shall come they shall be visited of the Lord of Hosts, with thunder and with earthquake, and with a great noise, and with storm, and with tempest, and with the flame of devouring fire.

Interesting prophecies coming true but how many take it as a natural occurrence? I think the people also thought that just as the Great flood began to occur.

I’ve been privileged to participate in a Philippine funeral/celebration of life for my wife’s Aunt. Since it was in our small village the entire or most of her relatives came and many stayed with us. The celebration lasted more than a week with her aunts casket in her former home while nearly 24 hours a day singing and visiting and meals and comings and goings occurred. It was amazing to witness and to watch. Very few sad faces though inner grief was given I’m sure. It was an amazing experience to wake up down the road in our house to hear people singing through the night. And the church next to our house also had a wake/funeral so the entire village had many people visiting and singing throughout the night and during the day. Amazing.
