This weather is going to put both your house and heating system to the test. Keep your thermostats turned up. It’s not the cold, it’s the wind that freezes your pipes.

It’s not advisable to let your faucets run. Most kitchen waste lines run on outside walls, and the wind can freeze that slightly running water. Open kitchen cabinet doors under the sinks to allow warm air in and cold air to pass through.
