Hurricane season starts tomorrow 6/1!
Don't miss your chance to attend PSL's premier storm preparation event, Hurricane Expo, on Saturday, 6/2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.! Because !
Participants will have access to more than 60 storm-prep-related exhibitors at this FREE event at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.
Those who attend a presentation by one of the Expo's informative speakers -- including Meteorologist Steve Weagle of WPTV, Meteorologist Mike Lyons of WPBF, Meteorologist William Ulrich of the National Weather Service, City and County Emergency Management staff -- will get a free T-shirt while supplies last!
The 2018 Expo also will have a few fun new editions, such as a hurricane simulator and photo booth. Attendees also will have a chance to be entered into raffles for hurricane supply kits.
The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast will be in the Lobby of the Civic Center offering rabies shot for $10 and microchip for $15
Local weather buffs can also attend a free SKYWARN Basic Spotter Training class taught by the National Weather Service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 2 at the Civic Center. Pre-registration is required for this free course, which trains participants to become weather spotters to provide real-time reports of tornadoes, hail, winds, flooding and hurricane damage.
