A near perfect squash 😍

We grew Butternut Squash for the first time last year. It did well since we grew Hubbard Squash as a trap crop next to the butternut. The vine borers preferred the Hubbard Variety which helped the other squash varieties flourish. I’m learning more about trap crops and I hope to incorporate more in the future.

Carribean Red Hot Peppers.
By far the hottest pepper we’ve ever grown!
The seeds were gifted to me almost a year ago by
They’ve lasted all the way until today which is wild because usually by now we have a killing frost. If you watched my stories, you know we harvested them just yesterday!
If you’re looking for a 🔥HOT 🔥 pepper, this is the one. The plant is super productive so I had a lot throughout the season.
I’ve been dehydrating them and turning them into hot pepper flakes.

Flowers have become an essential part of our garden. When I first start gardening, I grew vegetables only, and I’ll be the first to admit, as silly as it sounds, flowers intimidated me! But now they’ve become an integral part of our garden. They attract so many pollinators, including birds(hummingbirds!), bees, and butterflies.
I’ll never get tired of capturing monarchs along my zinnias

Happy Tomato Tuesday!
Today’s tomato is Pink Icicle. This another variety that is new to the garden this year. The shape and color gives this tomato it’s name. Just look at that perfectly shaped icicle 😍
They ripened a lot later in the season, which has been a blessing because most of the other varieties are done for the season.
Definitely coming back next year.

Tomato Tuesday!
Today’s tomato is Lucky Tiger.
This is a new variety to us this year, and we love it!
The shape, taste, and even coloration reminds me a lot of Brads Atomic Grape, which is one of my favorite tomatoes ever!
They’re perfect for snacking on because they’re so sweet. They’re also prolific!
Definitely making a come back next year!

Tomato Tuesday!
So grateful to have such an abundance of tomatoes.
This year we introduced new varieties to the mix, and by far my favorite has been Barry’s Crazy Cherry. Such a prolific variety, and the flavor is 😚👌🏾*chefs kiss.
The other new ones to the garden are Lucky Tiger, Raspberry Lynna, and Pink Icicle.

Nijinsky Dahlia from looking absolutely beautiful.
These ball type dahlias have literally taken my breath away.
Nijinsky stands out from rest of the dahlias because of the majestic purples and fuchsias in her petals.
I can’t express in words how beautiful dahlias are 🥺💜 I just love them so much.

✨ summer in a basket ✨

the first of the tomatoes have ripened. I’m so impressed by the raspberry lyanna. They are so productive and were the first to ripen. I also harvested Barry’s crazy cherry tomato and wow 🤩 they are one of the best cherry tomatoes I’ve ever tasted! We of course have costoluto fiorentino and brads atomic grape in the mix.

As far as peppers, we have violet sparkle, sugar rush peach, black Hungarian, jalapeño, and Highlander varieties. And nothing screams summer basket like a sprinkle of ground cherries and a big ole cuke 🥒

Dahlia season is upon us! ✨
Who else spends way too long staring at their flowers every morning ✋🏾
This variety is Silver Years and I can’t get over the opalescent pinks the petals give!
I’m saving seed AND tuber from her!

My Very First Dahlia Ever.
I’ve been waiting for this exact moment for years!
This variety is Tahoma Early Dawn from and as the name implies, it’s the first of my dahlias to bloom.

And to say I’m in love would be the understatement of the year 😄
