Thats right it is that time of year again - the annual holiday Open Studios at NW Marine Artworks !!! Fabulous arts , crafts, music , food and of coarse Portlanders doing what We do best - supporting local creative artists , crafters and small businesses ! Busy summer w not much instagram posting but let’s wrap it up w Timberline Winter Entrance install this week being the official ritual start to winter in the Cascades !!! Our competition winning design for the Winter Entrance was fabricated and first installed in 2009. A prefabricated Demountable structure that celebrates the merging of art, architecture and craft of historic WPA timberline lodge , 6000 ft elevation Mt Hood

This is our newly completed PREFAB Floating Roof, Garden Pavilion ! 200sf, round powder coated steel columns and beams , no visible bolting - connections, local source Western Red Cedar Ceiling and Trim, Metal Roofing and Rain Chain. We are excited about the adaptability of this clean modern elegant design to create a zen outdoor “room” to connect w nature. Backyard-Garden free standing, off a living or dining room as a lanai type extension to homes living space or perhaps a front entry “gate space or modern porch” , let us know your thoughts and other ideas!

Columbia River Gorge House. Located on the WA side of gorge. In process exterior design renderings. Fire resilience and sustainable system are two of the main goals of this project. Located in the national scenic area the dark materials palette is designed to blend with the surrounding small woodland landscape. A few of the main materials will be a custom dark matte low reflective metal roofing and trim, yaki-sugi wood wall cladding, a deep South facing roof projection to shade the main bi fold glazed doors and grouped casement windows, natural timber wood pergola and columns. The overall project extends into a deeper perma culture approach to the stewardship of land in this truly unique and special landscape of the Columbia Gorge.
