GSW is working on a few new designs, one of which sits on the bluff of White Salmon overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. This modern house is designed around an existing oak tree that is celebrated in a central courtyard at the center of the home. More to come!

A short animation of a shelved GSW project in Clackamas, OR. This office + warehouse headquarters was conceived with a large solar array to offset its energy usage, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability and long-term operational efficiency. The design balanced clean, modern industrial forms with thoughtful site integration, creating a workplace that felt both highly functional and forward-thinking. Though never realized, the project remains a compelling exploration of how architecture can merge performance, identity, and environmental responsibility.

We came across an unbuilt GSW project from over fifteen years ago and decided to update some renderings while reminiscing about the design. The German American Society Cultural Center was a unique project designed to entrench the history of the GAS into the city of Portland while promoting education and community engagement. Located along the Willamette River in SW Portland, the building was envisioned as a shining river jewel and a catalyst, at the time, for the redevelopment of the Macadam and Johns Landing area. Construction on our Hood River orchard house is complete and landscape is shortly behind. This house has rich family history and we were honored to help breathe new life into it. More pics to come, but check out the last slide for the existing mega lap siding!
