Blueberry Hill Renovation

We have the pleasure of working with clients who want a high-performing home while retaining the footprint of the original structure, which means precise detailing is critical.
One example is constructing the exterior wall assembly to ensure durability, energy efficiency, and year-round comfort.

Step one: establishing the primary air barrier. All horizontal and vertical seams of the CDX sheathing are taped using Tescon Vana tape. An airtight, vapor-permeable tape that blocks uncontrolled air infiltration while allowing drying to the exterior if moisture is present.

Next, we install two layers of 2” polyiso insulation. The second layer is offset to overlap the seams of the first, reducing thermal bridging and further controlling air movement.

The assembly is then wrapped in Mento 3000, our weather-resistive barrier (WRB), completing the control layers before we move on to the ventilated rainscreen and siding installation.

Building performance starts at the envelope and we’re detailing every layer accordingly.

We were invited back to a former client’s condo to renovate the adjoining condo they purchased at the onset of our last project, transforming it into a seamless extension of their main living space. Designed with hosting in mind, the new layout includes a full guest suite and a custom lounge area perfect for entertaining.

Every inch was considered, from tailored cabinetry to intentional finishes with a focus on clean lines and cohesive flow. The result is a space that feels elevated, modern, and perfectly in tune with the original renovation. A true reflection of how thoughtful design can evolve with the people who live in it.

🚧 Continuing to prep for a truly one-of-a-kind remodel 🚂🏡

This house straddles an active train line and is adjacent to the Willamette — and yes, it’s every bit as complex as it sounds. Next up: scaffolding install. Safety, precision, and planning are key as we get the site ready for what’s ahead.

One of our client’s neighbors recently brought flowers to our carpenters — a small gesture that meant the world to our crew. It was a simple reminder that how we show up in a neighborhood matters just as much as what we build.

This add on and renovation had a specific intent, which was to provide our client (and their guests) a four-seasons space from which to enjoy the beauty of their surroundings. Clean lines, natural finishes (like quarried stone, clay floor, sustainably harvested, local woods from ), and multi-panel lift-slide doors all conceal some of the most technically demanding square footage.

From its 13 helical earth anchors and concrete grade beams below ground to the 17-piece steel support skeleton and multi-sloped roof to the exactness of every finishing detail, we enjoyed the build almost as much as our clients love the inviting warmth of the finished space.
