Michael the Archangel Catholic Church was built by Italian immigrants in 1901. The church is located in the area of downtown Portland formerly known as Little Italy. The church is an Italian National Parish and dear to the heart of the Italian community. The purpose of the Italian Region Memorial Window Project is to raise the money to build memorial windows in Balestra Hall. Each window will feat

ure a different region of Italy to represent the diverse Italian community of Portland. Michael's is under reconstruction and restoration beginning April 2016. The windows of Balestra Hall will be installed once restoration is complete.
