Garage Door Technician position entails but is not limited to:
installation and repair of garage doors, operators, springs
Compensation: $18-30/Hr DOE
this range of pay is based on competency and demonstrative ability towards the following responsibilities and qualifications.
Responsibilities
• Load/unload materials into provided work vehicle
• Required to drive company vehicle to and from jobs and follow all driving safety rules and requirements always
• Provide comfortable and sufficient customer experience
• Troubleshoot and rectify customer complaints
• Troubleshoot concerns and assess work necessary at each site based on pre-job checklist
• Responsible for completing paperwork per each job and reporting to production manager before/after each job
• Accept payments and report to production manager prior/post job
• Garage Doors Installations: Includes take-down, removal of old doors as well as installation of new (building steel doors as per manufacturer instructions, installing tracks, weather stripping, handles, etc.)
• Operators: adjustments to existing (training provided), tightening of cables, installation of new operators and tracks if needed, etc.
• Observe job site safety rules and respect homeowner/tenants space and requests
• Comply with OSHA guidelines and company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain tools and work vehicle as instructed
• Responsible for clocking in and out at beginning and end of shift and lunch breaks
• Responsible for completing paperwork per each job and reporting to production manager before/after each job
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications of Desired Candidate
• 1-2 years of experience in related or technical field (i.e. construction, mechanics)
• Sales experience a plus but not required
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record over past 3 years
• Positive attitude towards and comfortability with customers
• Honesty & trustworthiness of high importance
• Self-Motivation within team or alone
• Willingness to complete job at hand
• Experience with and ability to use hand tools including but not limited to (electric drill, saws, hammer, etc.)
• Ability to read job instructions and accept direction from production manager
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75+lbs
• Must be able to climb ladders and abide safety regulations
• Can bend, twist, and turn body at shoulders, waist, knees to install doors/operators
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must have flexibility with scheduling when a “set” schedule can NOT be provided
