Westerlund Tree Service is hiring!!

We are looking for EXPERIENCED CLIMBERS and GROUND CREW!
- YEAR ROUND – FULL TIME - Steady Mon-Fri work!!
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Medical benefits

- All climbing gear and PPE provided

Ground Crew:
- Safely operate chippers, Power Saws, Chain Saws, Pole pruners, Trucks, Aerial Lifts, Stump Grinders, and other specialized equipment as needed.
- Rake and clean up debris
- Assist climber

Climber:
- Experienced and responsible tree climber.
- Prefer a minimum of three years experience climbing.
- Comfortable climbing in all seasons. We stay busy year-round!
- Ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge regarding rigging, knots and safety procedures on the job as well as spurless climbing.
- Pay is negotiable based on experience.

Requirements:
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Valid, WA Driver's License and clean driving record
- Ability to lift/drag heavy loads
- Must have physical endurance to perform job duties during an 8 hour day
- Reliable transportation to shop in North Kitsap
- Must arrive on time for work daily and complete tasks as assigned in allotted time
- Team player
- SAFE
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Good communication skills – common sense, active listening, clear speaking
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Experience driving a trailer is preferred
- Experience in the tree service field is preferred
- Experience with aerial lift and other tree equipment preferred
- CDL is preferred, but not required

Built on a Culture of Safety and Service

We’ve come a long way since Kitsap native Jon Westerlund started working in the forest with his father and brothers back in the 1970s. There have been a lot of changes in the industry since then, including increased regulation of tree maintenance and removal, the availability of more powerful and specialized equipment, and research that has changed tree care strategies. Despite the changes, Jon recognized that one thing that remained constant throughout the years was the failure of tree service companies that didn’t make safety and customer service their priority. In 2001 Jon opened Westerlund Tree Service, determined to excel in those areas, and they have remained the driving force in the business ever since.

One of the biggest changes for the company occurred in 2015, when Westerlund Tree Service joined forces with Tree King, a successful South Kitsap tree service company owned by Mike King. Mike and his company brought a solid reputation for exceptional customer service, safety and honesty, and the partnership gave the new venture a depth of expertise not found in other tree service companies.

Westerlund Tree Service now serves customers throughout Kitsap and Jefferson counties, including Bainbridge Island, Poulsbo, Silverdale, Bremerton and Port Townsend. True to our roots, if you ask any of our customers about our best qualities, they’re likely to list the same two attributes: safety and service.
