We’re growing our crew and looking for two dependable people who take pride in their work:

🔨 Handyman Field Lead — $24–$27/hour to start
Have the experience to run a job and lead by example? We’re looking for someone to lead a handyman crew, with a helper working alongside you from your first week.

🎨 Experienced Painter — $18–$22/hour, based on experience
Know your way around residential painting? We’re looking for someone who can handle the prep, patching, and finish work—and leave behind a job they’re proud to put their name on.

Both positions are full-time, W-2, based in Powhatan, with work throughout Midlothian, Goochland, Chesterfield, and surrounding areas.

We offer steady work, room to grow, and office support that handles scheduling, billing, and material orders so you can focus on what you do best.

Great review from Judi... "27 Contracting and what they are about! I was completely unfamiliar with this company when we hired them - based on the opinions of others who had used them. They were hired to completely "re-do" a pool apron on a large pool and to repaint a very large deck. They also redid the deck in the front of the house and found someone to power wash the sidewalk out there and seal it for us. The process of engagement was pretty flawless for us. Contracts were signed electronically, payments were made electronically - without a hitch in the process. They came and worked long days right in the middle of the tremendous heat wave we had the end of July. This is a family owned business and Richard, (one of the owners of the company and the foreman of the team), is extremely careful in watching every single step made during the process. If it's not up to his level of accomplishment - it is done over. The whole team is wonderful to have on your property. They "threw in" a few things while doing the job that weren't even in the contract. Very conscientious owner and extremely conscientious team. I would not hesitate for a moment to hire them again. Richard is a young Veteran and a Class A Contractor. You have nothing to worry about when you hire them. Not one thing."

1) Quality of work - unmatched.
2) Communication with their clients - it's surprising how many contractors who do good work don't do this well.
3) Integrity - They don't just quote the job, when applicable they give alternatives that either a) save the clients money or b) addresses a separate underlying issue that's causing the problem they called them about.
4) Quick turnaround - despite their continuous workload they are able to get to jobs very quickly.

Nothing like starting the week with a transformation this good! 😍🎨

After working around last week’s on-and-off storms, our paint crew wrapped up this deck and pergola refresh—and the difference is huge. ⛈️➡️☀️

27 Contracting's teams have really been working hard this week to make this summer more enjoyable!

In between the rain, we've done some exterior improvement projects for lots of lovely homeowners.🌦☔️🌦Today was a beautiful porch swing that we got to install. Now these homeowners can enjoy their front porch with some lovely lemonade in the evenings. It's a great spot to watch those storms roll by, and was a quick job to bring more fun to the front yard! 🍹🌅🍹

How do we make sure new plumbing is not going to leak... without just turning the water on and hoping for the best? 🔧💧

In homes getting water line upgrades, we pressure test the system first. It is a simple step that gives everyone more confidence before the water is flowing.

What does that actually mean?
We fill the system with air and monitor the gauge over time.

If the pressure holds, that is a good sign.
If the gauge drops, air is escaping.
If air can get out, water will not be far behind.
That means we can catch issues early, before they become a bigger problem.

Small step. Big peace of mind. ✅
