Pro-Seal & Paving is a leading asphalt paving and pavement-maintenance contractor serving Central Virginia. We take pride in high-quality work, dependable crews, and a family-style work environment. We’re looking for an experienced Asphalt Screed Operator to join our paving team.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the screed on the paving machine to control the depth, grade, and smoothness of asphalt mats

Work closely with the paver operator, roller operators, and laborers to ensure consistent, high-quality pavement

Check depth and cross-slope using hand tools and laser or stringline systems

Perform pre-trip and daily maintenance checks on the paver and screed

Monitor temperature, material consistency, and compaction during laydown

Follow safety protocols and communicate clearly with the paving crew and foreman

Qualifications:

Experience: 2+ years operating a paving screed (Weiler, Leeboy, Vogele, Carlson, or similar)

Knowledge: Asphalt laydown techniques, mat smoothness, joint matching, and slope control systems

Requirements: Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to work in hot outdoor environments

Team-oriented attitude and attention to detail are essential
