It actually kills the system—especially on roofs with complex layouts like a set of twin gables off the back.Here is the exact science of why this fails:🛑 The Twin Gable "Dead Zone": When you have two gables off the back with open access points into the main attic, adding a ridge vent completely ruins the air pressure. A ridge vent relies on a continuous draw[intake] from the lowest point (soffits) to the highest point[exaust] (peak). Those twin gables act as massive lateral breaches. Instead of pulling air up from the bottom of your roof, the ridge vent just loops air sideways through those gables. The result?
