3.Topdressing Mix
Sand and compost 50/50 Blend. Helps with smoothness and helps improve organic matter especially in heavy clay soils

Frequency of applications

Topdressing can be done in the growing season as often as every 6-8 weeks. Time must be allowed for the grass to grow and root through the topdressing soil. Only so much soil can be introduced to the turf per application so as not to smother the turf. Typically per application the topdressing is spread at a thickness of a quarter of an inch.

The Maintenance and Enhancement supervisors, at Stonehedge, participate in classes and training sessions periodically to ensure your plants are cared for correctly. Proper pruning is just one of the many tasks our crews focus on during winter maintenance of your property to ensure the best health and appearance of your plants in spring. Call today to discover our variety of maintenance plan options and schedule a quote!

Let’s talk crape murder ✂️ It sounds dramatic… because it is 😬 “Crape murder” is the unnecessary practice of cutting crapemyrtles down to stubs in fall or winter, and despite good intentions, it actually does more harm than good.

Hard pruning doesn’t improve blooms. Instead, it creates weak growth, ruins that gorgeous exfoliating bark, and opens the door to disease. The better approach? Selective pruning in late winter only—remove dead, crossed, or wayward branches and keep the tree’s natural form intact. If you’ve inherited a badly butchered tree, patience (and smart pruning) can help it recover.

And if size is the issue, the real solution is choosing the right crapemyrtle from the start—like our Early Bird™ or Delta Series varieties, bred to fit a range of spaces beautifully 🌳

Your crapemyrtle will thank you.
