Now we have 2 culturally relevant foods we specialize in growing!!! I’m excited to see what next season will bring!

Well that’s 2 crops we will for sure be specializing in going forward! What will next season bring us 😁

It’s still canning season y’all! 🫙 And why not put up some chicken stock while we’re at it?!

This is one of those things that I use ALL the time. Soups, stews, beans, rice, gravy… especially once the weather starts cooling down and it’s officially soup season. 🍲

And it doesn’t have to stop at chicken! I do the same thing with leftover rabbit parts, deer & goat neck bones, beef soup bones… whatever I have that can be turned into something instead of going to waste.

This year I’ll also be stocking the pantry with plenty of vegetable stock for My Mr. Wright since he doesn’t eat meat. ❤️

A stocked pantry just makes me happy 😂

It’s canning season, y’all! 🫙🌱

Growing the food is only part of the journey. Preserving the harvest means we get to enjoy what we grew long after the season is over.

And here’s another fun (and delicious 😋) way to preserve some of that harvest!

And if you know somebody with more produce than they know what to do with right now 😂, send this to them too!

High tunnel this morning!

I use this recipe for my famous pickled okra, but since it’s that time of year that we’re getting way too many cucumbers, I wanted to share with you all my pickling Brine recipe. You can use this recipe for cucumbers, cauliflower, carrots, or any other firm vegetable you’d like to preserve with a little spicy tang… Think I’ll try this with all this zucchini!!!

I know y’all miss me, but between this heat wave, drought, work and trying to get my other half here to help me with all of the above, unfortunately, I neglected you, but here’s an update on the outside the garden. High Tunnel coming soon!
