Just wanted to share my experience at Goldsboroughs Marine with everybody place is a joke can’t believe they have been in business so long. For one, it’s been since the beginning of summer that I dropped it off. Only fixing a tie off cleat on the bow of the boat and a back pressure plate on my 70 hp Yamaha. I was given a quote of around 2000 bucks. I paid 1150 upfront and they finally called me about a week or so ago and said 800 bucks to pick up now. BUT your carbs are dirty and need a water pump your total will be about 1200 and some change give or take. I was never given any warning that the price was subject to change. (Or I would have done myself) They called me Tuesday Morning and said it’s done 2200 bucks come get it? that’s 1400 bucks for a water pump and carb clean after I was quoted 400 bucks. Whoever I spoke to they acknowledged that I was told wrong price and that he was going to “get in whoever I spoke with ass) so 8 hours later I get a call back saying there’s nothing he could do about it except knock off $300 off of the 2200 that was never supposed to be that much in the first place… what a slap in the face no warning about it could go over 400 bucks for water pump and carb clean and when I picked it up today owner was very unprofessional and now pretends our conversations never happened. He wouldn’t listen to anything I had to say it was his way or the highway even though he acknowledges the fact his mechanic messed up on the price never again will I take my boat their period hope nobody else had to deal with the experience I have had to deal with very unprofessional and to add 1000 bucks for a carb clean and water pump is absolutely ridiculous have a great day
