Don’t start with Pinterest. Start with a plan. 🤍

Before construction begins, the most important decisions shouldn’t still be sitting on a mood board.

Working with Terra early means your key selections are thoughtfully lined out—from finishes and fixtures to cabinetry, lighting, hardware, and all the details that impact the build.

Why does that matter? Because those selections inform what happens next: electrical placement, plumbing locations, cabinetry dimensions, lead times, and so much more.

From jobsite walk-throughs and plans in hand to sourcing, selections, and watching spaces take shape, August was a reminder that the best interiors come together through hundreds of intentional decisions along the way.

One Decision Changes Everything

The most impactful remodels often begin with a single decision.

In this primary suite, rethinking the layout transformed far more than the look of the space. By redesigning the floor plan, we were able to introduce new windows that flood the room with natural light, improve the overall flow, and create dedicated his-and-her closets that make everyday routines more functional.

Every change was intentional—not simply to update the finishes, but to make the home work better for the family who lives in it.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT | Preserving Character with Purpose

One of the most impactful design decisions in this lake home remodel wasn’t something we removed—it was something we intentionally kept.

The original brick arch between the kitchen and living room had incredible warmth, texture, and character. While much of the home was thoughtfully updated, Terra recognized that this architectural feature gave the home a sense of history and personality that couldn’t be replicated.

Great design isn’t about starting over. It’s about knowing what deserves to stay, what should evolve, and how every decision contributes to the overall feel of the home.

By preserving the brick arch, the home maintains its unique character while seamlessly blending with the updated spaces around it. The result feels timeless, inviting, and authentic—not like a remodel chasing trends.

The best renovations aren’t defined by how much you change. They’re defined by knowing which details are worth protecting.
