Wow nothing about cats!

Just a little something that I added to my bike. 😆

First was a set of highway pegs so I can stretch my legs out.

Then is a tool box that I decided to use for a trunk because it's both cheaper and bigger then a factory made one.

Although I still can't haul as much as when I had my old Yamabago.

That's the Winnebago for motorcyclist. 😆 And I could carry lots of stuff in it!

Had plenty of space for camping and skydiving gear.

Or laundry and groceries. It used to be comical looking at people while grocery shopping in my leathers.

Because you just knew that they were wondering how I was going to carry all of that on a bike?

And little did they know that I had just came from the laundromat. 😆

Well that was a fairly good day. And I say fairly good because I messed up and under bid one job out of two.

But I got deposits and build dates on both so have 2 jobs this week.

As for under bidding the one. I'll still make something on it.

However if making something was good enough I would be an employee not a business owner.

Because running a part time small business costs a lot!

But it was my mistake so it is what it is. But first I have a bunch of cedar that I need to coat with ANIMAL SAFE linseed oil tomorrow so I can restock.

She's a goofy girl.

But she's my girl!

For those that are new. This is Boomerang my fourth adoptee.

And second adult feral adoptee! Although the first that I believe to be her son was under a year old when they first discovered my outdoor kitty café.

And soon became comfortable with me in proximity.

But...the transition period to being domesticated was A LONG drawn out process!

And he's still real skittish although he likes being petted by me.

But any other human sends him running to hide.

Meanwhile Boomerang was approximately 2 years old and as wild as they get.

And ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED of big scary humans!

Thus she would instantly run for her life at the slightest hint of one.

But once again after a long drawn out process she found that she liked the domesticated life.

And is now a real sweet girl that loves attention and will be at my feet every morning as I'm getting my coffee.

Then trot alongside me until I sit down at which point she will want to be petted.

And while other humans can walk up to her and pet her.

You can see that it makes her visibly tense. But still.

It's been an absolutely amazing transition to witness!

Did 2 builds this week and have 2 more to bid tomorrow.

But today was a putter around the house kind of day.

Started with a trip to Lowe's to restock a bit. First I got 75 cedar fence boards.

Which I'll treat with ANIMAL SAFE linseed oil in the next few days.

Then I got some more screws as I go through tons of them of various lengths.

And that container is 120 dollars! But I purposely use shorter ones to screw the cedar down for my platform surfaces.

Although I could just shoot them with a small nail gun in a fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost.

But screwing them down allows for quick simple cheap upkeep in the future.

Because they're fairly inexpensive and the clients can just buy new ones.

Cut them the same length. Generally 2 feet so you get 3 per board with zero waste.

Unscrew the old ones and screw the new ones down for a nice pretty look once again if desired?

Also got some other screws nails and hardware etc.

And last but not least a big tool box that I put on my bike as a trunk.

After I put some new highway pegs on so I can stretch my legs out.

Now hopefully tomorrow I'll book both jobs for the upcoming week?

When I first discovered the colony shortly after moving here 2 years ago.

These were the 2 adults I routinely saw in the area along with another that's since passed away.

But the neighborhood is primarily apartments so I just assumed they were indoor outdoor kitties.

Then I found the black and white one with 3 newborns!

Unfortunately momma kitty moved them before I could grab them.

So I started putting food out to see what was around so I could tnr them. (Trap neuter return)

Then I discovered that besides these 2 and the 3 newborns plus the other adult that I mentioned.

They White and Grey one also had 4 babies. Plus there were another 4 kittens approximately 5 months old!

So the 3 adults and 4 older kittens were all tnr and I've been caring for them since.

Except for the one that passed away. But then George came along bringing me back up to 7.

And now Simon has taken up residence! 😆

And eventually those 3 newborns that the Black and White momma moved started coming to the feeding area.

So I trapped them and the other 4 babies and got them placed with rescues for a shot at decent lives through adoption.

Meanwhile my colony is well cared for and have grown somewhat comfortable with me being in proximity.

Although they will still run off if I get to close. Or when I start using drills and saws.

Despite my reassurances that they don't need to!

George will forever be a mystery to me!

He's a friendly guy that wants to be around humans.

But is quick to suddenly just lash out and sink his claws into the hand that pets him.

Thus he shall remain as a colony kitty.

Awesome start to the day!

Although Simon had gotten somewhat comfortable with me in proximity before.

That all changed after I trapped him and held him in solitary confinement for a week or so until he could take his little trip to the clinic.

None of which met with his approval! 😆 Thus once I turned him loose he's pretty much been hiding from me.

Although he was looking in the window along with little one at breakfast time one morning.

And I've seen him in the yard. But normally once he becomes aware of my presence he runs and hides.

However this morning he came over at breakfast time and just looked at me when I said hello.

So he's (starting to) get used to his new environment again.

Note.

As the new guy he will sit a few feet away until the others get their fill and then eat.

But otherwise has been accepted by the colony and is an official member now.

WHAT AN AWESOME WEEK!

Built a nice 5x5 window catio on Monday.

Got some wrap added to the sides of my truck on Tuesday to include my staff. 😆

Did a 5x16 plus yesterday and today with a sky bridge to an enclosed porch.

Then bought a new bike this evening. And while I'm not a big fan of the color.

The price was right so it will grow on me. 😆

And I know that it will get better then 11mpg and be a lot easier to park than my truck! 😆
