If you know me, you know I love a good DIY project and power tools. 👩🏼‍🔧💪🏻Today was so fun helping a friend bust out all of these board and batten walls in her new home. It looks so good already and it’s not even done! Ready for caulking and paint. I can’t wait to see them finished! Thanks Katie for trusting me to do this project!

As promised another before and after project in my oldest sons room this time. We had a navy wall with vinyl decals creating a wallpaper look before and it was time for a change.
•
We changed up the paint and added 1x2 vertical boards and a 1x6 horizontal board stained with Early American.
•
I have walls like this throughout my house but I love the difference of the smaller, thicker boards and the stained horizontal board.
•
I may still add one more thing above his bed but for now I’m going to sit on this and see how I feel. He loved the way it turned out so I’ll count this as a success!

Things are starting to change around our house. With our kids getting older and each one being in school now it has felt like the right time to embark on something new. Something for me, outside of mommyhood. Back in February I began real estate school. Then a pandemic hit and what was supposed to be a fairly quick process turned out to be a much longer one. I was able to continue the schooling online and as of July 1st, I am now licensed in Arizona to sell real estate! I have always had a passion for homes. I love to see the potential within a home. I want to help you do that too!! While this account has been mainly for my own home decor and projects, I now want to expand just a bit and take you on my real estate journey as well! I hope you enjoy and follow along. 💕

We have had the opportunity this week to venture out of the 115° temps in Arizona and visit family in the cool 90° weather. 😎 One of our favorite things to do is drive around in Bountiful/North Salt Lake (my husbands stomping grounds) and look at all of the beautiful homes set on the mountains. These two stopped me. My little slice of heaven. White with black pained windows and an incredible view?! You seriously can’t go wrong with that!

You know that feeling when you do something to your house that you never knew you needed? That’s how I feel about this wall in my kids playroom! I am so excited with how it turned out.
I painted the wall black and used my .inc machine to cut out the plus signs using vinyl from . I randomly placed the plus signs as I saw fit and used a level to make sure they were straight.

2017 comes to an end tonight and I’m so grateful for the year we have had. I’m hoping next year brings warmth, brightness, inspiration and beauty to each one of you.
