This Memorial Day weekend, let's start with what matters most: honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we have this day. 🇺🇸

Now, as we spend the long weekend with family and friends (and yes, probably browsing some sales), I figured I'd save you from impulse-buy regret. I did way too much scrolling so you don't have to, and here's what's actually worth your money:

✅ Summer wardrobe essentials that work for multiple occasions
✅ Tech that's genuinely useful
✅ Outdoor gear for people who actually go outside
✅ Home upgrades that make sense

The best sale purchases? Things you were going to buy anyway—just at a better price. Don't let FOMO make you spend money on stuff you'll regret by Tuesday.

Before we dive into sales and summer plans, let’s remember what Memorial Day is really about: honoring the men and women who died serving our country, and being grateful for the sacrifices th…

Mother’s Day shopping got you stumped? 💐 I’ve got you!

Not every mom wants another candle. Some want a fitness tracker for their 6am runs 🏃‍♀️ Some want a chic crossbody bag that doesn’t scream “diaper bag era” 👜 Some want garden tools that don’t murder their back 🌱 And some just want a blanket and zero interruptions while reading 📚

I broke down gifts for 5 types of moms:
💪 The sporty mom (always training for something)
✨ The fashionable mom (looks amazing in the school lot at drop off somehow)
🌿 The gardener mom (dirt under nails = badge of honor)
🍳 The kitchen wizard mom (turns leftovers into Michelin-star meals)
📖 The bookworm mom (TBR pile is taller than she is and she’s not sorry)

Whether you’re shopping for your mom, your partner, or honestly yourself, because maybe you’re a mom too and you deserve nice things! There’s something here that’ll actually get used.

And look, if you’re shopping for your own mom? This is also your chance to say “sorry for everything I did to you as a massively hormonal teenager” without actually having to say it out loud cuz a really good gift does the talking for you. 😅

No fluff. No “she’ll love anything you get her” nonsense. Just good gifts that make sense to me!

🌎 Happy Earth Day

I took this pic on the walk with my puppy this morning, and I couldn’t not see the heart in this. ♥️👀

It made me think about how every single day needs to be Earth Day. 🌿 Look, I’m not out here composting my coffee grounds (although I think about using them on my plants every time I throw them away- the coffee grounds not the plants) or building tiny houses from recycled pallets. But taking care of the planet doesn’t have to be that intense. 🥵

Sometimes it’s just as simple as remembering to bring reusable bags or buying stuff that doesn’t fall apart in three months. Maybe it’s not replacing things just because there’s a newer version - this is a big one for me that I’m still working on! ♻️ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle everything that can be. Even trying to shop smarter so less junk ends up in landfills.

Does this make me an eco-warrior? Hardly! But if we all did a few small things instead of nothing? That’s something, right?! 👏🏻 And isn’t it all the small things added up that equal something big?

Today’s a good reminder to pay attention to what we’re buying, what we’re tossing, and what we’re leaving behind. Not just today, but you know… like every day. 🌵✨💕

What’s one small thing you’re doing that the planet would high-five you for?✋

What if that restless feeling inside you isn’t a crisis—but an awakening? 🦋

In this warm conversation, Desiree sits down with Sarah Andreas—artist, author, and reinvention guide—who helps women navigate the in-between space of who they’ve been and who they’re becoming.

In this episode, you’ll explore:
💭 How your body knows your truth before your mind does—that tightness, tingling, the butterfly-stuck-in-a-cocoon feeling
🤲 Holding your plans with an open palm instead of a closed fist—so the universe can surprise you
🚫 Why “learning to be content” when restless is the wrong advice—you need fulfillment and happiness
⚠️ How ignoring that “there’s more for me” feeling turns midlife into crisis instead of evolution
💔 The small daily betrayals: saying yes when you mean no, giving away blocked time, staying silent about big dreams

Sarah offers permission and practical tools for women who feel restless in something that looks good from the outside, sense it’s time for change but aren’t sure what that means, or are ready to stop betraying themselves.

That restless feeling? It’s not something to fix. It’s something to follow. ✨

Event season is HERE and I refuse to buy dresses I'll only wear once. 👗✨

Weddings, graduations, Mother's Day brunches—they're all hitting at once. And here's my hot take: buying dresses you'll only wear once is a waste of money AND closet space.

So I put together a roundup of spring event dresses you'll actually wear again (and again):
✅ Timeless linen dresses for every occasion
✅ Lace midis you can dress up or down
✅ Machine-washable satin that looks expensive
✅ Versatile maxis for warm weather ahead
✅ Statement dresses for black-tie events

The goal? Finding pieces special enough for events but versatile enough to justify the investment. Because the best event dress is the one you'll want to wear more than once.

Get all the picks and styling tips at the link! 👇

Wedding season is upon us. So is graduation season. And Mother’s Day brunch season. And basically every other event that requires you to look presentable while navigating unpredictable spring…

What if doing more good in the world means strategically subtracting what drains you?

In this eye-opening conversation, Desiree sits down with Nell 3D—keynote speaker, leadership advisor, and subtraction activist known for her “loving dagger of truth”—for a conversation about reclaiming your energy without abandoning your impact.

In this episode, you’ll explore:
⚠️ The realization that no matter how purposeful you are, doing too much is dangerous to yourself and everyone around you
📐 The 3D framework for true success: ME (wellbeing), WE (relationships), and WORLD (impact)—all three must be served simultaneously
🛑 Stop, Drop, and Roll—stopping to ask “how’s it really going?”, dropping something experimentally, and rolling out the insights
🐴 Horse wisdom: starting with the least possible effort instead of maximum force
🧠 One immediate subtraction: unhelpful thinking

Nell offers urgent truth and practical tools for high-performing, purpose-driven leaders who are doing important work but feeling overwhelmed.

Whether you’re a helper on the edge of burnout or someone who needs permission to stop piling on, this conversation shows you how to protect your energy while keeping your impact.

Subtract to multiply. Your energy matters. 🌟

Let's be honest: some mornings, you just don't have the brain space to "style an outfit." 😅 You know, with everything going on...

I totally get it—which is why I put together this roundup of 8 spring pieces that work as complete outfits all on their own. No accessories required. No matching game. Just grab, put on, and go.

The lineup includes:
✅ Wrap dresses that do the work for you
✅ Jumpsuits in elevated fabrics (not your basic denim)
✅ Lightweight cotton sweaters for all seasons
✅ T-shirt dresses that look way more expensive than they are
✅ Matching linen sets (because sets = instant outfit)
✅ One statement necklace that transforms your jeans-and-tee uniform

Getting dressed shouldn't feel like a high-stakes puzzle every morning. These pieces are about making your life easier without sacrificing style.

What if the doors you think are closed are just leading you toward possibilities you haven’t seen yet? 🚪

In this thoughtful episode, Desiree sits down with Carlee Wolfe—strategist and coach with 20+ years leading talent and transformation at brands like Under Armour, Hyatt Hotels, and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee—for a conversation about navigating career challenges with clarity instead of urgency.

In this episode, you’ll explore:
🔄 Reframing networking as “connecting to learn”—expanding your options by getting curious
🤝 Gentler entry points for introverts: start with a neighbor doing something interesting
🤖 Why AI isn’t something to fear—but to get curious about and build skills in
📈 The importance of staying “at least on pace” for long-term career growth
🎯 The Three C’s (Curiosity, Clarity, Confidence)—a planning tool and diagnostic for when you’re stuck

Carlee offers compassion and practical tools for moving forward—whether you’re facing career uncertainty, feeling overwhelmed by change, or looking for permission to explore what’s possible.

The next arena is bigger than you think. You just need to find the door. ✨
