Lilac trees and a wisteria tree are beginning to bloom. The wisteria tree is blooming for the first time and has 3 blooms on it. They can take a decade to bloom, so it's rewarding to see it start. It's going to be a showstopper in someone's front yard! The lilac trees available are dwarf Korean, miss Kim and Japanese tree lilac. I'll post pictures again when the blooms are full if the trees aren't sold.

It's almost spring and time for garden and landscape plans to be developed.
We are now reserving bareroot Norway spruce trees for planting in April. Two sizes available; 2 to 3 ft. and 3 to 4 ft. trees. These are big, nice looking spruce and will give your property a great look. Prices are $7 and $10 per tree and that includes the tax. I'm selling in bundles of 10 trees, but if you need a different number, we'll work with you.
The picture shows the smaller size trees that are $7 ea.
If you have questions about spacing or planting sites; let me know.

About the 1st week of March, we will be taking orders for bareroot Norway spruce trees. This year there's two sizes to choose from. The 24 to 36 inch trees, as we have had for many years and 36 to 48 inch trees.
The pictures are from last year's bareroot sale.

My interest in plants has changed since the cold frame is full of dormant plants. I've been trying to craft some plant containers using natural materials and focusing on house plants. A description of the material is under each picture. What do you think? Constructive criticism is welcome!!

We have changed our telephone number!!! With better quality mobile service, we dropped our land line. I can be reached at 517 677 7217. If I don't answer, please leave a message. I tend to not carry my phone everywhere.
At the nursery, I'm placing plants in the greenhouse and stockpiling soil for next year.

It's that time of the year..... paw paws are ripening, dropping and taste delicious! They are large this year and plentiful, like many fruits. We have paw paw seedlings ready for planting. You'll need two for future pollination of the fruit. Plant where you can enjoy the tropical look of the trees and watch the fruit develop. Cost is $20 for two trees.

We're getting close to the ripening of one of my favorite fruits, the paw paws. Mid to late September should be when the large "Shenandoah" paw paws turn yellow and soft. That's when they are so good. I don't have any large trees this year, but sell seedlings for $10. Two are needed for pollination. Seedlings usually produce tasty fruits but not necessarily large fruit. If you know of a local tree that has large fruits, I'd be interested in collecting some wood for spring grafting.
