Here’s the real truth about wedding flower preservation: these flowers did not come out of the press looking like this. 🌿

Each bloom carries a piece of a once-in-a-lifetime day—the bouquet held during the vows, the flowers photographed in every cherished moment, and the details that made the celebration uniquely yours. Preserving them is about more than saving petals; it’s about creating a lasting keepsake of the love, joy, and memories they represent.

To honor that sentimental value, every detail was handled with meticulous care. Several roses were reconstructed petal by petal, the roses and greenery were carefully color-corrected, and portions of the orchids were rebuilt by hand. The finished piece is not simply a pressed bouquet—it is a handcrafted way to keep the feeling of your wedding day close for years to come. THE FLOWER STUDIO IS OFFICIALLY OVERFLOWING. 🌸😂

If you walked into my studio right now, you’d find flowers in presses, flowers buried in silica, flowers being reconstructed petal by petal, flowers waiting for color correction…and approximately zero empty surfaces. 🤣

And I kind of love it.

Right now I’m working on multiple preservation pieces, each with completely different flowers and completely different challenges.

This is the part of floral preservation you don’t always see.

Before the beautiful finished frame, there are weeks of drying, pressing, experimenting, rebuilding and figuring out what each individual flower needs.

No two bouquets behave the same.

And lately? This little studio has been VERY busy. 🤍🌿

One garden. So many completely different worlds. 🌿✨

From butterflies landing on us and lily pads floating across the water… to wildly shaped cactus, fiery desert blooms, towering hibiscus, timeless English gardens and bonsai trees older than we could imagine.

THESE ROSES DIDN’T DRY THIS COLOR. 🌹🤍

White roses are beautiful… and also one of the trickiest flowers to preserve.

As they dry, they often shift into shades of cream, butter, ivory, or tan. And sometimes, that natural color change is a little more dramatic than I want for the finished piece.

So instead of tossing them aside, I work with them.

Each petal is carefully color-corrected by hand, then the rose is reconstructed again, layer by layer, until it starts looking like itself again.

The rose at the bottom? That one is built with three layers of pressed petals to give it more depth while still keeping it flat enough for framing.

This is the part of floral preservation people usually don’t see.

Not just pressing flowers.

Not just putting them in a frame.

It’s rebuilding a memory, one petal at a time. 🤍🌿

By Tuesday, memorial flowers can already begin to fade. That doesn’t mean the memory has to. 🤍

These flowers held a goodbye. Now they’ll hold the memory. 🤍

They were part of a memorial on Saturday, and last night I started the preservation process.

I’ll be using these meaningful blooms to create two herbarium bottles and one shadow box, each designed to keep a piece of that love close.

Flowers fade quickly, but what they represent doesn’t have to.

Time to work a little preservation magic. 🌹

✨ Behind the Collection: From Concept to Creation

Every collection begins long before the first flower is placed. 🌿

Before I ever started designing these nursery pieces, I had to imagine how they would feel.

Should they be soft and whimsical or bold and playful? Which flowers would tell that story best? Which colors would create a peaceful nursery? How could butterflies, meadow blooms, and a crescent moon all belong together without competing for attention?

I spent hours experimenting with flower varieties, shapes, colors, and movement before a single piece was finished. Some flowers came from my own wildflower garden, others were carefully chosen for their texture and form, until the collection finally felt exactly as I had imagined.

The finished artwork is only part of the story. The design process, the trial and error, and the countless tiny decisions are where the magic really begins.
