In honor of the Carolina Hurricanes winning Game 2, we are throwing it back to this pour that we did for the Lenovo Center in May of last year. This pour saw us working with ARW Concrete Contracting at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, home of the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team.

We supplied 70 yards of concrete on May 12th and 68 yards on May 22nd to pour slabs for the HVAC handler. Sunrock Industries pumped 600 feet and also helped with a temporary wall the month prior for them to excavate the area for the slabs.

Our team used a high-range water reducer, hydration stabilizer and VMAR F100, a rheology modifier to enhance the lubricity in order to aid in the successful pumping of this mix. Let's Go Canes!

Join us in congratulating Greg Kraemer on 50 years of service! Greg serves as the Manager of Special Projects and has a storied history with the company.

Mr. Kraemer first met Sunrock CEO & Chairman Bryan Pfohl back in 1976, when they both resided in New York state. Greg grew up in the City of Tonawanda, NY, and worked with the New York DOT before joining the company. and has held a number of different titles during his time with Sunrock. He started out working in the lab, eventually becoming a scale man. He would go on to spend time in quality control and was in charge of asphalt operations before becoming Manager of Special Projects.

Greg is a die-hard do it yourself-er who enjoys working. He has acquired, designed, or been involved with all of our asphalt plants that are in operation. Greg enjoys the variety that comes with his position, along with the ability to be mobile. “My job is exciting and turbulent, there’s never a dull day….it has been a very satisfying career.” Many team members will tell you that Greg has been instrumental in their growth and development throughout our operations, especially on the asphalt side of the business.

In his free time, Greg enjoys woodworking and spending quality time with his family. He will forever be a huge part of Sunrock’s development and story. We greatly appreciate everything that Mr. Greg Kraemer has done for the company and congratulate him on 50 incredible years of service!

Sunrock Industries is proud to highlight our ongoing work on Persimmon at Cates Creek, a multi-family residential development located in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Our Contracting team plays a major role in this project, being constructed for EMJ as the general contractor. Sunrock’s scope of work for the Persimmon project includes erosion control measures, as well as clearing and grading.

In addition to this, we are installing all underground utilities, storm water, sanitary sewer, and domestic water. Sunrock Industries will also be performing the concrete curb and sidewalk work, along with all of the paving operations. We have enjoyed working on this project and look forward to the completion of Persimmon at Cates Creek.
