Helped a wonderful couple get organized and off the garage floor for a new resin and chip re surfacing.

Roof vent, stand pipes and a rotted rain diverter improperly installed causing a leak into the cavities below. This was caught at an early stage and the repairs were minimal. No remaining seal evident around the vent or stand pipes so I cleaned away what was there and re sealed. The actual boots were in good shape so the homeowner elected to leave them in place.

A quick little before and after. We traced a roof leak which was evident on the surface of the paint. Thankfully it had not penetrated the wall itself. The leak was a rain diverted that was incorrectly installed and was carrying water to the meeting edge of the roof and adjacent house wall. Roof repaired and all sealed up ass well as the interior repairs complete. Roof repairs will be in the next post.

Customer asked to have this twisted flimsy gate removed and for a kiln dried strong gate to be put in its place. He actually hung on the gate to test it and after a lack of sagging or movement said, and I quote, “ Well done sir. Now that’s a gate!! “.

I love punch list items. Hammered the existing aluminum joist plates back in to position and reinforced with #10 lag screws 1/2” plywood sand-witching the joint.
