*Where little dreams begin to bloom*
One year ago, we brought this nursery to life, and it still makes us smile.
The floral wallpaper sets the tone, soft and whimsical without feeling too sweet. A plush rug makes every first step feel gentle, while dreamy sconces cast a warm glow for late-night cuddles. Custom window treatments and a beautiful crib complete the room, creating a space that feels calm, cozy, and made with love.
Designing a nursery is one of our favorite things to do, because every detail is part of a family’s beginning.

*Breakfast, but make it colorful*

Our color-loving clients trusted us to bring a little boldness to their outdoor dining space. A modern Italian table anchors the setting, paired with show-stopping red dining chairs and a plush purple cushion for a pop of the unexpected.
Just off the kitchen, this spot has quickly become the family’s favorite place for breakfast, especially with Raleigh serving up 85 degree weather today. Coffee, sunshine, and a view worth lingering over.

*Same chairs, whole new story*

Our clients had two beautiful Baker chairs they were hoping to use in their new home.
We loved the design and clean lines of these chairs right away, so we gave them a second life: a rich blue lacquer finish, with upholstery that pairs a solid velvet with the most amazing striped velvet.
Two chairs, and many behind-the-scenes decisions on color & pattern to make them an important part of the new living space.
Sometimes the best pieces are the ones you already own, just waiting for the right vision.

* One of six outdoor spaces*
This is the lounge area where the only agenda is nothing at all. Right beside the pool, a big, comfortable swing is made for slow afternoons, a good book, and a drink within arm’s reach (yes, the drinks table is included). The blue outdoor fabric is weather resistant but soft enough to sink into, and every pillow is custom made and different from the next, because our client wanted lots of pillows, and we delivered.
Six outdoor spaces, six purposes. This one is all about rest. I think I would claim this one!

*Our best design ideas start when the plan ends*
This September, we took a few days off and let the south of France and the south of Spain lead the way. No fixed agenda, no checklist. Just walking, wandering, and letting each city show us its own rhythm.
What we found: centuries-old facades weathered to perfection, courtyards that make you slow down, tile work worth a second look, and interiors where every material feels considered. Beyond the buildings, it was the energy of the people that stayed with us: how they gather, linger over a table, and live inside their spaces.
Add great food, long conversations about design and life, and the company of my good friend and fellow designer Otrada Design LLC; it was exactly the reset we needed.
It’s a reminder we carry into every project at Couture Haus: the best spaces are shaped by how people live in them. Travel sharpens the eye, and it fills the well.

* Light-filled and layered*
This staircase is one of our favorite quiet moments in the home. Walls of windows pour natural light down every step, while our client’s own art collection adds warmth and personality against the clean lines. A beautiful chandelier ties it all together.

* Breakfast nook goals*
Three islands, one seriously stunning kitchen, but this built-in breakfast nook might just steal the show. To echo our clients’ art collection, we layered in colorful patterned fabrics on the stools and a gorgeous performance blue on the built-in bench. The result? Colorful, elegant, and totally family-proof.
Because beautiful and livable were never mutually exclusive.

* The best way to close out summer? Seeing our Cary project grace the pages of Southern Home.*
This one has been months in the making, and watching it come to life in print is a full-circle moment for our whole team. From the first conversation about vision to the final styled shot, every detail here was a labor of love.
To the incredible team behind this project: thank you for the craftsmanship, the problem-solving, and the late nights that made this house feel like a home. And to our wonderful clients, thank you for trusting us with your vision and letting us help bring it to life. Projects like this only happen with the right people around the table.

*From the camera roll *
August moved fast and so did we. Our team was heads-down bringing the Master Suite remodel to the finish line, working on a bathroom renovation, preparing for photo shoots and pushing our Clubhouse project forward. Design, demo, sourcing, site visits; it was a full month.
But even in the busiest stretches, we made space for what matters most: time with family. Because at the end of the day, the homes we build are for the moments that happen inside them and we try to practice what we preach.
Here is to a September full of even more beautiful progress.

* Three doors, zero flow. We moved a whole wall*

This kitchen had a tough layout — three door openings boxing in the space and no room to breathe, let alone gather. So we made a bold move: we moved a full wall shared with the dining and living area to give the kitchen room to expand.
The payoff? A generous eat-in island for morning coffee and evening catch-ups, a proper pantry (because storage is never optional), and a fresh, elevated look that finally matches how our clients actually live.
Sometimes the best design decision isn’t a finish or a fixture, it’s knowing which wall has to stay and which one has to go.
