Small businesses don’t have enormous advertising budgets, corporate headquarters, or entire marketing departments. What we do have is a genuine investment in the communities we serve.

When you choose a local business, you’re supporting someone’s livelihood, their years of hard work, and their commitment to doing something they love.

And supporting small businesses doesn’t always mean spending money.

A thoughtful review, a recommendation to a friend, a shared post, or simply mentioning a business in conversation can make an enormous difference.

I’ve been fortunate to build Life, Simplified through the trust, referrals, and kindness of people right here in our Seacoast community since 2010.

So this Small Business Saturday, I encourage you to think local, shop independent, and give a little extra love to the businesses that help make our communities what they are.

What's on and in your nightstand? 💡 You likely have more than you need. I have shared this before, but my rule of thumb is to only keep items in this space that you actually use in bed or first thing in the morning/right before bed.

Depending on the size and functionality of your nightstand, your items may vary, but here is a simple list to get you started:

ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND:
- Lighting option such as a lamp or candle.
- Something that brings you joy; a family photo, your favorite knick-knack, or a plant.
- Room for your alarm clock or cell phone when it's charging.

IN YOUR NIGHTSTAND DRAWER/EXTRA SPACE:
- Glasses case and glasses.
- Current book you're reading (or nook, iPad, etc.).
- Extra hair ties.
- Essential oils or nighttime face lotion/spray.
- Brain dump tool such as a writing journal, sketch pad, or adult coloring book.
