I love using tiger lilies for their height, color, and reliability. Just be sure to divide every few years if they get crowded!

Spotted this busy bee loving on our Pink Pavilion Caryopteris (aka Bluebeard)! These late-summer bloomers are nectar-rich and absolutely irresistible to pollinators. Bonus: they’re drought-tolerant and deer-resistant—what’s not to love?

Swallowtail on a Pugster Butterfly Bush 🦋
I usually steer clear of butterfly bushes since Buddleia davidii can be invasive—but the Pugster series is a sterile variety, making it a safer option for North Carolina gardens.
While they don’t support biodiversity as fully as native pollinator plants (they’re nectar-only and not host plants), I still like to keep a few around for their vibrant blooms and butterfly traffic. It’s all about balance 🌿

We officially got our space certified as both a Wildlife Habitat and a Pollinator Garden — which basically means the birds, bees, butterflies, and even the toads have all co-signed the vibes 🐝🦋🐸🌿

It’s native-plant focused, chemical-free, and designed to support the creatures that make our ecosystem thrive. Lots of blooms, shelter, water sources, and good hiding spots (for the shy ones).
