How to pack Bacaratt Crystal Stemware....
1. Never throw out the original box high value items like Bacaratt come in.
2. I created little bounty paper towel 'hats' for each glass. The towel hat will allow the stemware to move during transport but also cushion it and not allow it to tap against the box.
3. This stemware will be in a box that has bubble wrap and/or crumpled packing paper on the bottom.
4. Sturdy kitchen items are the best for giving boxes integrity and prevent the box and contents from getting crushed. Things like cutting boards, baking pans, even rolling pins and reusable metal water bottles all give protection to the items inside.
5. This crystal stemware is going on a moving truck from LA to TX. I packed the crystal to allow a little movement and gentle cushion inside the box. The crumpled paper and bubble outside the box will absorb all the bigger bumps and movement on the ride in the truck.
6. I numbered the box for my inventory records. Written on the box was 'misc kitchen, baking, wine glasses'. Never write the names of high value items on the box. I also wrote on all 4 sides "DO NOT STACK ON" and an arrow and wrote 'TOP". Fragile stickers were place on all 4 sides and top of the box as well. Lastly I wrote "To be opened by ________(client name) because the client has hired unpackers at their destination. I prefer the client to handle this high value box vs. the hired help.
