She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and is a certified NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) professional. Over the course of her career, she has designed, detailed, documented

, and managed the construction of hundreds of thousands of square feet across a variety of projects. For the past 14 years, Jen has built a successful career with a top-ranked architectural and engineering firm, specializing in corporate workplace interiors for Fortune 500 companies. Her passion for design began in the 8th grade and has remained a constant throughout her career. Jen thrives on crafting beautiful, functional spaces and collaborates closely with contractors to bring her visions to life. She believes that clear communication and strong relationships between all parties involved are the foundation of every successful project. After successfully overseeing her own extensive home addition and renovation a few years ago, Jen recognized how her knowledge and expertise in construction played a pivotal role in navigating the process efficiently and seamlessly. This insight led her to identify an opportunity to enhance the client experience for those less familiar with the construction journey. She realized that by prioritizing transparency, clear communication, effective schedule management, and meticulous attention to detail, she could streamline the process, reduce costs, save time, and alleviate stress for homeowners.

Construction has traditionally been a male-dominated field, but more and more women are stepping into roles across the industry - from builders and engineers to designers, project managers, and business owners.

After almost two decades working in the design and construction world, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with many talented women who bring expertise, leadership, and a collaborative spirit to every project.

At this Vaulted Cape project in Reading, MA, we focused on bringing the homeowner’s vision to life, working hand in hand with the contractor to problem-solve details and ensure every decision aligned with that goal. From reimagining the fireplace wall to refining the finishes, we coordinated each step so the final space feels warm, timeless, and true to the homeowner’s dream.

The result? A bright, double-height, open space that feels modern yet comfortable, layered with light, texture, and thoughtful design. The exterior updates tied it all together - giving the house a refreshed presence both inside and out.

Big News! After 18 years in the corporate Interior Design world - designing, problem solving, creating construction drawings, and overseeing major construction projects - I’m thrilled to introduce Cilano Design Studio!

After completing a large addition on our house 5 years ago, I realized how my knowledge and expertise in construction played a pivotal role in navigating the process so efficiently and seamlessly. A lightbulb went off when I realized that my background could enhance the client experience for those less familiar with the construction journey who are undergoing large renovations/additions.

Whether hired by homeowners, architects, or contractors, I bring clarity, communication, and a sharp eye for detail to every project. My goal is simple: help clients save time, stick to budgets, and bring their vision to life - without the stress.

Before & After Transformation ✨

This home received a full transformation and now its brighter, more functional, and ready for family living.

Updates include: a primary suite, dedicated home office, a beautiful double-height living room, addition of 2 bedrooms and a full bath, plus a fully finished basement and double car garage.

CDS was able to guide the homeowners every step of the way through the entire process, helping guide the hundreds of decisions needed. We also coordinated with the contractor during the build to make sure the homeowners vision came to life.
