VERSE Work/Shop is pleased to announce its 2026 summer exhibition, 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨: 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠, opening with a public reception this Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. The show will run through Sunday, August 16th.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨 brings together three regional artists and makers — 𝙈𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙣𝙚𝙧, 𝙀𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙖 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙯 𝙎𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙠 — whose practices share an uncommon thread: each reaches beyond the object being made and into the making itself as a living, breathing act. Whether through formal meditation, the rhythm of repetitive mark-making, or a deep commitment to ecological reciprocity, these three practitioners breathe life into their work — literally and philosophically.

“𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩” is a made-up term — and perhaps soon a movement. It names something these three makers have been doing all along: reviving, sustaining, and animating the work they produce through intentional practice and a search for higher vibrancy.

𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐓: 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐎𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐥 is on view February 21 through March 8 / Saturdays 12-5 & Sundays 12-4

The title of this exhibition is borrowed from an anthology of American literature edited by Ralph Woods, brother of Mary Elizabeth Woods Lightfoot. The Woods were a family of writers—journalists, ghost writers, authors, and editors who understood the power of language to shape meaning. In 1948, Mary Woods married William Oliver Lightfoot. Together they raised six children, and since then, two more generations of Lightfoots have come into the world—each carrying forward a legacy of making.

Mary was known to say, "I don't have a creative bone in my body." The evidence suggests otherwise. What she birthed was not a lineage of professional artists, but something rarer: a family of makers compelled to create alongside the demands of work, parenthood, and daily life. Most show up without ever showing. All step back from convention to forge something new because they are made to do so. It is, quite certainly, in their bones.

The Lightfoot family members in this exhibition include commercial artists, jewelers, nurses, contractors, teachers, poets, painters, fiber artists, furniture makers, sculptors, and surfboard builders. Very few have shown publicly before, yet all are prolific in what they make. They are artists by life—foraging, assembling, painting, and building in the margins of careers and family obligations. Treasury of the Familial gathers their work as evidence of what compulsion looks like across a lifetime, and what gets passed down when making is woven into the fabric of daily existence.

As sisters who have built Verse together, we recognize something of ourselves in the Lightfoot family's creative inheritance. The act of making—whether jewelry, surfboards, textiles, or the space that holds them—is both solitary and collaborative, passed between generations and across workbenches.

We share a vision of Verse as more than a gallery: it is a platform for regional artists and makers whose work is rooted here, made now, deserving of wider recognition and activated by community. In curating Treasury of the Familial, we celebrate not only the Lightfoot lineage but the larger truth that sustaining a creative practice alongside the rest of life is itself an act of resistance, devotion, and inheritance. This is the work we believe in—and the work we are honored to share.

On view thru November 23rd 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘺𝘭 𝘒 𝘐 𝘈𝘮 𝘔𝘺 𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘦 an exhibition featuring the work of fashion designer, Daryl Kerrigan. Curated by Nina Stritzler-Levine, this exhibit showcases select pieces from DK's 3+ decade career, as well as a pop-up shop, making available pieces from the current collection.

☀️The summer-sprint is upon us and with the ferocity of everyone’s schedules we’ve decided to host the 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙥 8.0 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 in hopes the majority of our featured artists can attend. Just wrapped up one of our favorites to date: 𝙄𝙩 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝘼 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚 showcased the work of 114 Linden Avenue Middle School Sixth Grade Art Students alongside archival material generously on loan from Historic Red Hook. This incredible collection was a joyful visual presentation celebrating our hometown of Red Hook. Come enjoy a cross spectrum of the facades that compose our beautiful town as we celebrate Red Hook (+ 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥) as depicted through the lens of our most vital observers, our students.

114 paintings capturing the businesses, farms, and private residences that sustain our community hang alongside archival material generously loaned by Historic Red Hook in this show featuring Linden Avenue Middle School Sixth Grade Art Students.

Enormous thanks to LAMS Art Teacher, Ms. Ana O'Keefe, Principal Stacie Smith, and the Historic Red Hook team for the collaboration in bringing this special show to life.
