Happy 5 Year Anniversary to Natalie Garcia-Gomez!

Natalie is a Junior Interior Designer and Project Technician in our Redding Office and has this to say about her time here at NMR, "I’m grateful for the opportunity to work and serve in the same community where I grew up. After graduating from college, I joined NMR, and it’s hard to believe that five years have already passed. During that time, I’ve enjoyed collaborating on a wide variety of projects alongside talented architects, engineers, designers, contractors, and trade professionals. I’m excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing my journey toward becoming a licensed Interior Designer.

When I’m not working at NMR, I enjoy spending time with my family & friends, being a youth group leader, serving at Sacred Heart parish, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, and taking on DIY projects"

Happy 35th Anniversary to Dave Arnold, Associate Architect in the NMR Redding office!

Dave shares, “I joined Nichols Melburg & Rossetto 35 years ago after moving from Southern California and interviewing with Gene Nichols and Dan Rossetto. The firm has grown tremendously since then. At the time, remote work didn’t exist, and I was hired to operate the office’s only CAD drafting station running on DOS 14. Thankfully, both the technology and the firm have evolved considerably over the years.

What has kept me here is the camaraderie and support. NMR was the first place that encouraged me to pursue licensure and grow professionally, and that guidance played a major role in my career. I’ve appreciated the opportunity to pass that knowledge and experience on to others. It’s been a rewarding journey, and I think I’ll stay for a few more years.”

National Peace Officers Memorial Day is observed annually to honor federal, state, and local law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. Established in 1962 by Congress and President Kennedy, it falls during National Police Week, featuring a candlelight vigil and wreath-laying ceremony in Washington, D.C. Yesterday we celebrated the officers of Shasta County!

Happy 1-Year Anniversary to Michelle Harris, Project Architect in the NMR Santa Rosa office!

Michelle shares, “Over the past year at NMR, I’ve built a strong understanding of the firm’s collaborative, team-based approach, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to align goals, schedules, and priorities. My experience on HCAI-regulated projects has strengthened my ability to manage complex submittals, coordinate across disciplines, and resolve issues proactively.

I value NMR’s balance of a close-knit team environment with the resources of a larger firm, which supports both collaboration and high-quality delivery. This year has reinforced the importance of consistency, accountability, and clear communication, and I look forward to continuing to grow and contribute to the team’s success.”

We did it again!

NM&R hosted an interactive Open House in our Redding, Chico & Santa Rosa offices. We believe that providing opportunity for students to explore the profession #1 Benefits our industry by educating the community about our profession, and #2 Allows students to explore the inner workings of an architecture firm. We wish the best to all the students who are committed to pursuing their degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Structural Engineering!

The NMR structural and architectural team has truly enjoyed designing the new high school campus for CHYBA – California Heritage YouthBuild Academy. We’re thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with the CHYBA team and look forward to seeing this important resource take shape in Shasta County.

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Lauren Barr, a Project Manager in the NMR Monterey Office. Lauren has this to say about her time spent with NMR, “Over the past year, I have really enjoyed working for Nichols, Melburg & Rossetto. I worked primarily on renovation and improvement of 14+ projects for Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and other associated buildings. Working on existing buildings, especially in a hospital environment, has taught me a lot about coordination, problem-solving, and working within existing conditions.

The staff here have been very welcoming, helpful, and willing to answer questions, which has made transitioning into a new firm and a new area much easier. The work culture is supportive and collaborative, and it’s a place where people are willing to help each other and share knowledge. That’s probably been one of the best parts of working here.

I’ve learned a lot by working on a wide variety of projects and feel like I’ve grown professionally while working with a great team and in a positive work environment.”
