Under the kitchen sink is one of those spots that collects everything, gets dirty and needs a little extra love from time to time. And the best part is its quick to do.

Take everything out and wipe down the space. Y’all know it gets gross under there. Group like with like. Get rid of empty and old items. Acrylic bins stop spills and keep things contained. And voila, a lovely tidy under-sink area.

Which cabinet in your house needs this next?✨

September is National Emergency Preparedness Month. Have you been feeling like it's time to finally do this or update your existing emergency supplies? Here are some super helpful pointers.

A few things I'd add that don't always make it onto the list:

👉 Make sure you have water, about a gallon per person per day for at least three days.

👉 A physical, written copy of emergency contacts, since phones die and nobody remembers numbers anymore.

👉 If you've got pets, they need their own small bag too, food, meds, a leash, something with your info on it.

👉 Store the whole kit somewhere everyone in the house can grab, even in the dark. Scattered around in different places defeats the purpose.

What's already in your emergency kit? Curious what I might be missing!

This cabinet was 24 inches deep, and tall enough to be inconvenient even for those who aren’t “vertically challenged”. 😂 Anything toward the back had turned into a guessing game, and most of it had expired without anyone noticing.

We kept a lot of my client’s existing bins and added just a few new ones so everything pulls down and out instead of getting lost in the depths. Every expired item got tossed, and now the back either sits empty or holds backstock of whatever’s already up front.

Do you have cabinets like this hiding in your kitchen? Send me a message and let’s take a look!

Same, honestly. 😂 But SoCal doesn't really get the memo about Fall until like... November. The hoodie might be premature (but maybe we can manifest it?).

Who's already breaking out the fall candles anyway? 👇

Whenever I start with a new client, they almost always admit to feeling embarrassed of the mess, and concerned about judgment. But the truth is that a messy home is totally normal - you live there after all!

Keeping it real, my own counters aren't always spotless, nor is my desk free of piles. In my mind, the goal is not a magazine-ready home at all times. Rather, it's a house you can FIND things in easily. And a home where things belong and you know where they go. It's to eliminate stress and give you the relief of knowing there is a system. I love giving that gift to people! ♥️

The "just in case" pile/category is a sneaky one. It convinces you you'll need something eventually, even when eventually never comes.

Another one I'd add to this list: old electronics boxes. phone boxes, laptop boxes, you know. We keep them thinking of resale or warranty stuff, and most end up just taking up shelf space for years untouched!

If you haven't opened it in the last year, it's probably safe to let it go.

What's something you're holding onto "just in case" that you know deep down you don't need? We all have at least one.

These cabinets above my clients’ washer and dryer were great, just packed with things that weren’t earning their keep anymore. The first step was pulling out anything that didn’t belong.

What stayed: Lightbulbs and cleaning supplies, plus grandma’s colorful glass collection that deserved a front row seat. Laundry essentials are still right where they should be, above the machines, and everything’s labeled so nobody has to guess what’s where! One happy client! ❤️

This one stopped me for a second today.

It's easy to get so focused on what's next that we miss what's actually happening right now, the five minutes with your coffee before everyone wakes up, the walk to the mailbox you almost skip.

I want to remember this on the days that don't feel like much of anything. Those might be exactly the days I look back on the most.

What's one little thing you're going to actually notice today? Tell me below. 👇

Congratulations, welcome to the club!! 👋

I went through this transition with my own adult sons not too long ago, and nobody really prepares you for the way things change - in exciting and challenging ways.

My recent blog walks through what that adjustment looked like for myself and my husband. It includes room repurposing ideas, how the budget and home life shift, how it felt emotionally and how it’s going today! It’s linked in my bio. ♥️

We've all walked into Target for one thing and left with a cart full of "needs." 😅

No shame here, but pro tip:

👉 Before that cute bin comes home, make sure it has a real job to do. Otherwise it just becomes prettier clutter.

Shop your own house first too. You probably already have a few of those hiding in the garage! ❤️
