Hiring Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper

This position includes but is not limited to answering phones, scheduling service calls, updating calendars, setting up new accounts, invoicing, bookkeeping, filing, receiving equipment and other administrative duties.
Our ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, self-motivated, honest, has great communication skills and doesn’t mind working by themselves the majority of the time. Must know Quickbooks.

With summer quickly approaching, many are planning wonderful and relaxing vacations with family and friends! At Cabling Systems, we want to send out a few tips on keeping your home and valuables safe while you are away.

* Add door sensors and glass break sensors to doors, windows
and sliding glass doors
* Upgrade to smart locks for your entry doors
* Add security lighting (motion detection/smart lightbulbs). Extra
solar lighting near your home can detour possible break-ins
* Secure overhead garage door(s) so that it cannot be opened
manually
* Cover windows with interior curtains and blinds
* Remove any vegetation against your home that provides a nice
hiding place. Plant prickly bushes under first-floor windows (be
sure to keep them trimmed!)
* If possible, keep entry points visible from the street
* Prevent an overflow of mail or newspaper deliveries. Ask your
local post office to hold your mail until you return. Ask a
neighbor to collect any packages that may possibly be delivered
while you are away
* Store grills, lawn mowers, bicycles and other valuables in a
securely locked garage and cover with a dark colored tarp
* Now would be a good time to photograph/document your
home inventory. Leave a copy with a trusted family member or
friend, or secure in a safe or bank security box

Pro Tip:
Leave an extra house key with a friend or neighbor. Even if the chosen person doesn't live very close, it's better to have an emergency key there than nowhere at all. Leaving a key hidden under a mat, rock or someplace else, is very risky. Just remember, bad people know all of the hiding places and tricks.

Peace of mind is one of the main benefits of security cameras. They
can increase your home security by allowing you to check in on your property from wherever you are. You can see a live feed of your home on a smartphone or computer, and get immediate alerts of any unusual activity. By using a 24 hour monitoring station, police, fire and rescue will be notified sending help immediately.
Strongly consider adding fire and smoke alarms that are monitored 24 hours, as well. Sadly, too many precious memories, home valuables and beloved pets are lost due to fires while families are away.

Do Smoke Detectors Have an Expiration Date?

According to the National Fire Protection Association, hardwired smoke detectors should be replaced every ten years. This is because over time they lose their effectiveness. Older smoke detectors may not detect fire as quickly as a new one would. In addition, they may cause false alarms and eventually stop working altogether.

How do you know how old your smoke detector is? Most smoke detectors have the date printed on the back or if you had them installed as part of your alarm system, the installing alarm company should have a record of when they were installed.

Wireless smoke detectors should also be replaced. Some models have a battery life of eight to ten years and once the battery dies—you simply replace the entire smoke detector. Some models say to replace the batteries at least once a year. Again, the date should be printed on the back of the detector.

When you change your clocks—change your smoke detector batteries so you don’t forget.
