Hey Reno. How was your day?

The sun is setting behind the mountains. The street lights are flickering on. The neighborhood is getting quiet. Another day in the books.

There's something peaceful about this time of night. The rush is over. Dinner's cooking. Maybe a show on in the background. The world slows down for just a minute.

And if you step outside right now... man, the holiday lights are starting to look good out there.

Houses lit up. Trees wrapped in white and colored lights. Inflatable Santas doing their thing. Wreaths on doors. The whole neighborhood competing to see who can make the power company the happiest.

But here's my question...

Does your mailbox get to join the party?

Some of you have wrapped yours in garland. Some of you put a little bow on top. Some of you went full Clark Griswold and that mailbox is glowing like a beacon.

And some of you... your mailbox is just standing out there in the dark. Cold. Alone. Left out of the festivities. 😅

Let's be honest for a second.

Your mailbox is the first thing people see when they pull up to your house. It's standing out there at the curb 24/7, representing you to the entire neighborhood. The mail carrier sees it. The delivery drivers see it. Your neighbors see it every single day.

So why do so many mailboxes look like they gave up in 2006?

Faded. Rusted. Generic. Forgettable. Just a sad black box on a leaning post that says "I stopped caring a long time ago."

🌙 Happy Monday Evening, Reno!

The workweek has officially begun. The weekend chaos is behind us. The mailboxes are still standing. Life is good.

And can we just take a second to appreciate this time of year?

It's officially the holiday season in Reno.

🎄 The lights are going up all over town. Downtown is glowing. The Riverwalk District looks magical after dark.

❄️ The mountains are getting snow. Ski season is here. The air has that crisp, cold bite to it that just feels like the holidays.

☕ It's hot chocolate weather. Fireplace weather. Stay inside and watch movies weather.

🛍️ The shops are decorated. The restaurants are cozy. People are actually being nice to each other for a few weeks.

This is the good stuff right here. The part of the year where everything slows down just a little bit and you remember why you live in this beautiful place.

So get out there this week. Take a drive and look at Christmas lights. Grab dinner somewhere warm. Enjoy the Biggest Little City all dressed up for the season.
